Are you fully engaging our RIGHT TO VOTE?
During the past few weeks, many STR members have exercised their rights to vote in the various early elections. In the following months, hopefully all remaining STR members will exercise their right to vote, too!
When we think about the price of FREEDOM that has provided us with the ability to choose who we want to serve us at the local, county, state and national levels, we should be so very
grateful. Many take voting for granted and don’t exercise that earned right or privilege (only non-residents and convicted felons are exempted from the right to vote).
In STR, voting is a foundation of what our club is built on. The STR bylaws and the STR Foundation are established, reviewed and enacted by the vote of our STR members. Each year, the STR members elect a slate of officers who lead the club in the weekly meetings, financial functions, weekly and monthly newsletters, membership, training, service projects, annual grants, foundation activities, and many more activities.
During this last week, our ELECTED incoming 2020-2021 STR President, Diane, and 2021-2012 STR President-Elect, Beth, attended the Rotary P.E.T.S. (President-Elect Training Seminar) to prepare our club in following the established STR Club Vision and the developing local, national, and international activities.
Take a moment to thank those who serve in various elected positions and for those who have served in various military and municipal groups that provide us the right, privilege, and honor to VOTE!

The next District Training Assembly is scheduled for April 4th in Tyler at First Christian Church. Any member is welcome to attend. Incoming board members and committee members are encouraged to attend.
Wow! Barely two weeks in and our members have turned in more than $7,000 in checks and pledges. Special thank you to
Breck Watson who has sold over $2,100 and
Tom DeWitt over $1,800 already! We're inching towards our
$46,000 goal! It will take each and every member bringing in close to $500.00 to meet that goal. It is also my personal goal to have 100% member participation in this fundraising effort.
Members who turn in checks at this Monday's meeting will be entered into a drawing for 100 Paul Harris Fellow Points AND two Rotary themed engraved wine glasses with coasters. Congrats to Breck on his name being drawn last week! He now has earned 200 PHF points and is in the drawing for the Paul Harris Fellow for selling over $1,000.
Ticket books are available at the meetings. If you cannot make a meeting and need tickets, please contact your Team Captain or Diane Kavanaugh at dianeraby@att.net. You can find the fundraising letter and invoice on our
website. A team listing is also
available online.
See John Hart or Diane Kavanaugh to turn in money at the meetings. (Please include your name somewhere on the check so we know who to credit.) Those bringing in money each week will be entered into a drawing for 100 Paul Harris Fellow points and a Rotary themed gift.
