Board Meeting 9/28/17 - Our next Board Meeting is Thursday, September 28th at 4:30 p.m. at the Literacy Council of Tyler offices at TJC West. Board meetings are open to all South Tyler Rotary members. Please let Nancy Crawford know if you plan to attend.
Christmas Parade 10/12/17 - The next Christmas Parade planning meeting is October 12th at Hollytree Country Club at 1:15 p.m. Contact Amanda Folmar if you’d like to help with planning the parade. Fall Family Social 10/14/17 - Join South Tyler Rotary on Saturday, October 14th for a fall family social. STR Member Rob Jones graciously offered his beautiful farm for our use. Bring your fishing gear for the large bass lake on his farm (no license required). For those interested, you can also bring your firearm for target practice. Invite your family or a guest to join you for this fun event.
STR is doing a cook out with hamburgers and hot dogs. Bring your own beverage of choice. Don't forget a chair, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. If you have a lawn game (washers, corn hole, etc.), please bring it with you! Please RSVP to Rob Jones so we know how many to expect.
2017 Rotary District 5830 Polio Plus Raffle - It’s not too late to buy or sell raffle tickets for the District 5830 Polio Plus Raffle. The grand prize is a 2017 Ford F150XLT. Tickets are $25.00 each. Drawing will be held November 11th at the District 5830 District Conference. (Need not be present to win.) See Nancy Crawford if you need tickets. The October deadline is fast approaching.
Tyler's United Way 2017/2018 Campaign - If you are not part of a business that offers you a chance to participate in the United Way, and would like to make a contribution, see Tom DeWitt and learn how to participate as a member of South Tyler Rotary
5th Monday Social - Mark your calendars for October 30th for our 5th Monday after hours social. Details coming soon.
District Conference, November 10-11 - The Joint District Conference will be held on November 10-11 in Shreveport. Friday, November 10th, is at the downtown Hilton Hotel and includes Rotary Leadership Institute training. This training is open to all Rotarians. There will be a social for young professionals that afternoon, and dinner that evening with entertainment. Saturday, November 11th, is at Centenary College and includes a variety of training activities, speakers, a service opportunity, along with breakfast and lunch. Please put this event on your calendar and plan to attend.
