đŚWhatâs Your Flavor of Communication?
Just like we all have a favorite ice cream flavor, we also have a favorite flavor of communicationâand knowing yours (and othersâ) can make connecting easier and more effective!
When youâre reaching out to family, your work team, or even a potential guest for Rotary, the way you deliver your message can make all the difference.
Here are five common âflavorsâ of communication:
1ď¸âŁ Text Instead of Calling or Emailing
Quick, simple, and to the pointâlike a scoop of vanilla! đ¨ Texting works best for fast updates, reminders, or when you need an answer right away.
2ď¸âŁ Call Instead of Emailing
Sometimes nothing beats hearing a real voice. đ A phone call can add warmth, clarity, and a personal touch that typed words just canât deliver.
3ď¸âŁ Email Instead of Calling
Need details, attachments, or something in writing? đ§ Email is your go-to. Itâs like a layered sundaeâorganized, thorough, and easy to go back to later.
4ď¸âŁ Bulk Messages
Mass texts, group emails, or newsletters can save time when youâre reaching a lot of people at once. đ˘ Just rememberâsometimes bulk communication can feel impersonal if itâs not balanced with a personal touch.
5ď¸âŁ FaceTime or Video Chats
The cherry on top! đ Video calls combine the best of both worldsâvoice, body language, and connection. Perfect for family check-ins or when you want to add extra warmth to your Rotary outreach.
đ The key? Itâs not only about your favorite flavorâitâs also about the flavor the other person prefers. Matching their style makes communication smoother, more effective, and more enjoyable for everyone.
