Dr. Ray McDonald has over 30 years of hands on experience working with children, youth, families, and the elderly.  He has been employed in both the private and public sectors, working for non-profit and for-profit organizations.  He is presently employed at Texas College as the Division of Business and Social Sciences Learning Community Coordinator and Associate Professor of Social Work.  Dr. McDonald objective is to utilize his knowledge, skills, and educational background to inspire individuals.  His research interests comprise non-profit and for- profit organizations; traditional and non-traditional students approach to learning; global welfare; and cultural sensitivity. He has worked with both clients and co-workers from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. These relationships both personal and professional taught him to appreciate diversity and have assisted him in understanding how various cultural backgrounds affect clients’ decision-making ability.  Dr. McDonald has published and presented in various journals, newspapers and symposiums.  He has authored two books. One is concerning the aging process and the other is about Alzheimer’s disease.  He has volunteered his service on many governing boards. Dr. McDonald is affiliated with various professional and community organizations.

 

I am still in shock when my daughter came this May, 2019 to my rotary meeting and made me a Paul Harris Fellow. What a surprise!  My goal is to become a Paul Harris plus 1 by September, 2019 and a Paul Harris plus 2 by June 2020.  My family tradition is “Seafood Friday.” We come together and have seafood for dinner.
