Our speaker on October 22nd is TCU mainstay John Denton.   

2018 marks his 30th year with the TCU Network as the Frogs’ longest-tenured broadcaster.  Over the course of his career, Denton has worked as a TV analyst for college football and basketball for ESPN and has drawn additional assignments from Westwood One and CBS Radio Sports on their coverage of various college bowl games, the NCAA Basketball Tournament, NFL Monday Night Football, NFL Playoffs, WNBA, Major League Baseball's Game of the Week and the College World Series. 

He’s worked more than 350 college football games and 32 post-season games including the Cotton, Orange, Fiesta and Rose Bowls.   On the hardwood, Denton has worked more than 400 college basketball games, including multiple NCAA Tournaments. (and the 2018 NCAAs with the Frogs!)

In 2007, he received the Lindsey Nelson National Outstanding Broadcaster Award from the All-American Football Foundation and he is a seven-time recipient of the Best Play-by-Play Award from the Texas Associated Press.  

Denton, a four-year starter as a kicker and punter for the Horned Frogs from 1981-84, spends his time away from broadcasting as Director of Major Gifts for TCU Athletics.   

He and his wife, Linda, have two daughters: Erin, a sophomore Nursing Major at TCU, and Meredith, a freshman at TCU.
