Unity in the Community Prayer Breakfast January 18, 2025
Our Unity in the Community Prayer Breakfast at Jarvis Christian University this morning to celebrate Dr. King and recognize a few individuals in the Community that went above and beyond this past year. My guestimate: about 200 people were in attendance.
Upper Left picture, left to right, is Greg Hollen, Dr. Judy Traylor, Dr. Glenell M. Lee-Pruitt (President Jarvis Christian University), Rev. Crystal Bates and Atty. Khanay Turner that received recognition from Dr. Lee-Pruitt.
Bottom left picture: Cody Mize, Superintendent of Mineola ISD was the featured, guest speaker.
Bottom right picture: Dr. Judy Traylor and Greg Hollen with their Recognition Plaques.
Why post this within Quitman Rotary Club's website? Simple, Dr. Judy Traylor, Greg Hollen and Cody Mize are all Rotarians in either Quitman or Mineola's Rotary Clubs. In addition, Sam Scroggins (not pictured: Quitman Rotary) did the Invocation and Rev. Thomas Harper (not pictured: Quitman Rotary) was part of the Community Unity Prayer Program. In addition, we had many Quitman and Mineola Rotarians in attendance to congratulate all of the recipients.
Jarvis Christian University provided outstanding music performed by the University Choir and Senior Mr. Eddie Spencer, Jr gave a special musical performance playing sax and then also sang various hits by Michael Buble and Louis Armstrong imitating their styles. Quite impressive talent from these young adults studying at Jarvis.
In addition, an excellent breakfast was provided to all by Jarvis Cafeteria staff.
A very uplifting (per Carol Hollen) way to start a Saturday morning.
Congratulate to all the recipients.
