CBC wrapping up another successful blood drive at FUMC Quitman!

The results were:
- 18 whole blood units collected; no double reds or plasma units collected.
- We had 2 new donors to our event and both were volunteers at the morning ETFB Quitman food distribution (a double service day!).
- We had 1 no show, 1 walk up and 2 donors that were deferred.
Our total collected since we started: 323 units.
A very successful collection that will help CBC and our local hospitals have blood inventories to help surgeries as well as patients during their treatments:
- Red blood cells can be used to help accident victims, surgical patients and people with anemia.
- Platelets can be used by patients receiving treatment for leukemia and cancer, those undergoing surgery and others with low-platelet conditions
- Plasma is effective in treating patients suffering from burns, trauma, certain blood disorders, and a variety of other conditions.
Our next blood drive at FUMC Quitman will be:
May 19, 2026 (Tuesday) before School's Summer break
