Hello, Longview Greggton Rotary!

Hopefully, some of you got a little rain today. Carry those umbrellas again tomorrow, and maybe Friday, but we can sure use the rain, and rain or shine, plan to attend our meeting this Friday.

This Friday’s speaker is Dr. Jordan G. Stanley, M.D.  Judging from the average age of our Club members, some of you may know Dr. Stanley professionally from The Longview Orthopaedic Clinic. The rest of us will probably have lists of questions for the good doctor.

Earlier today, Pine Tree Interact had its second meeting, with over 30 in attendance. Tim Lewis reports that the members are wearing their Interact t-shirts around campus and getting asked about the club. He’ll be happy to update us this Friday about their upcoming activities.  Mark your calendars for their next meeting, Wednesday, October 2, 4:00 pm, at the Pine Tree High School Library, and join Tim and Sarah Fox in supporting the future of Rotary.

The Club received a Thank You letter from Holly Fuller at Partners in Prevention, recipients of a $7,500 grant at our meeting two weeks ago. In the letter, she shared the story of one on the lives impacted through funding like that provided by this club:
“Iris” … graduated from high school two years ago.  She had the support and friendship of a (P in P) mentor for several of her school years and that friendship continues today.  Upon graduation, she attended Kilgore College and received her Emergency Medical Technician certification.  In August 2019, she began her studies at Baylor University as a pre-med student.”
Holly says is best – “As Longview Greggton Rotarians you are playing a part in creating more positive stories for the young people in our community. Thank you.”

Our pleasure, Holly.

See everyone Friday, and bring a friend!
