Hello Longview-Greggton Rotarians,

We had a great group at our meeting last week when we had a chance to hear from District Governor Judy Guthrie. She talked about some of the ways Rotary is changing and told us of some of Rotary International President Barry Rassin’s goals for the year.

We’ll be hearing this Friday from Christus Good Shepherd Health System CEO Todd Hancock. He has to leave a few minutes early, so expect us to adjourn the meeting a little before 1 p.m. this week. It is Dave Wright’s week to lead us in the song, pledge, prayer and 4-Way Test, and it is Rep. Jay Dean’s week to provide the prize for Rusty’s Raffle.

On the menu this week is chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans.

Other upcoming programs are:

Aug. 3: We’ll be handing out checks to nonprofits benefiting from funds raised at our Rodeo.
Aug. 10: Area high school football coaches
Aug. 17: Dan Riegstad with the Kilgore College Police Academy

We will not have a meeting on Aug. 31 ahead of the Labor Day holiday.

See you Friday,
scott
