I am honored to serve as President of this great Rotary Club and look forward to a year of helping the Club achieve their goals and having a lot of fun along the journey.
The Rotary theme this year is Create Hope in the World. I am looking forward to this Club creating hope in our community through the financial assistance we provide through our fundraising, serving through our street clean up and finding other service opportunities within the community. If you have a service opportunity you would like the Club to consider, please contact Tyler Ranier or myself.
The theme for July is Transition month. As this new Rotary year begins, I am excited to share that we will be bringing back Club Assembly meetings quarterly to review our goals and progress. We will be having the opportunity to have some of our meetings be outings to explore different aspects of our community in person. We also will be scheduling Rodeo updates during meetings. If you have a program or speaker you would like to suggest, please contact myself or Kelly Overby.
We will also continue Rotary After Dark (RAD). That will be the 3rd Thursday of each month, so mark that on your calendar. We will announce the location each month. If you have a suggestion for a location, reach out to Kelly or myself.
Two words I am focusing on this year are participation and growth. Finding opportunities for more members to participate. If you are a member that cannot show up to every Friday meeting, we want to offer a variety of ways you can participate – service projects, fundraising, RAD and having programs that you do not want to miss. I want to say at this time, that John Green did an outstanding job as he filled the position to provide programs for the Club this year. Growth – having a Club so fun and dynamic that every member wants their co-workers, neighbors and friends to join our Club. Growth – being in the community more to expose the power of Rotary. How many of our Rodeo sponsors need to become members? How many of the organizations we have provided funds for need to become members? How many service projects have we or will we be involved in that we should ask them to become members?
I am excited about this year as I see opportunities to do great things, create hope, make some great memories for the Club and have a fun time!
