Fines - Marshall donated his winnings from the 50/50 back to the club - Thanks Marshall! Art kicked in due to his Birthday in March and Glen added funds due to celebrating his 41st wedding anniversary in March! Happy fines all around!!! Aaron kicked in due to the successs of our fund raiser led by Christina & more due to a Cub Scouts engagement he attended in his capacity as BC Clerk. Kevin was HAPPY as he was one of the 50/50 winners at our St Pat's party & he also won money at the BHS After Prom fundraiser - LUCKY guy! Glen shared that his son is expecting a second child and it's a GIRL! Ted went on a trip and “remembered the Alamo”. Richard has had some family visiting for 3 weeks - they are leaving soon. It's good for him because he's exhausted from all the sight seeing in the US! Nate kicked in due to the “smooth fund raiser” as well as thanking Michael Taylor for representing VR at the PELs Training that happened over the same weekend as our fundraiser! Tim, our speaker added to the fund - simply Happy to be at Vestal Rotary!
Christina shared a high level recap of the St Pat's Party with us. The 50/50 was up by approx $225, the flash auctions were up by approx $325 and squares for sale were up by $25. Of course, all tickets were sold so that was flat as well as banner sales. More details will be available when all the financials are set related to expenses soon. She noted that we will look for engagement by the members EARLIER next year so it's not a race to the finish line.
Andy shared that the RYLA student interviews are scheduled and he, Lori & Siobhan will conduct them and make our selection for this year's event happening in June.
Tim Szczesny was our speaker for the meeting. He was speaking in his capacity within the Rumble Ponies Booster Club. They are coming off their BIG season in 2025 and the need for continued support in our community. In addition, Tim spoke about the booster club's involvment in sending young people from our area to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, right in our back yard! They fund raise and send 3 Shafer Buses FILLED with kids that may have not even been out of the Greater Binghamton Area in the past! It's a fun filled day touring the HOF and surrounding area for these kids - giving them a great perspective and maybe the chance to become as HUGE a baseball enthusiast as Tim when they grow up!
Our next meeting is on April 6th. The next BOARD meeting is scheduled for April 7th @ 6:30 - being held at the California Grill. All are welcome to join and GET INVOLVED in the behind the scenes for making our Club the BEST!
