Our meeting packed with a TON of activity, information and upcoming volunteer opportunities for our members! We welcomed 2 speakers to the meeting. The first was Melissa Lantz from The Junior League of Binghamton. She spoke to us about what the organization does in our communitey and their ongoing prject with Food Recovery. They are working to purchase and fit a food truck to be able to provide prepared meals to those in need in our community soon! This was exciting news as there continues to be a strong need for food insecurity in our area. Next up was Phillip Ginter from the Ross Park Zoo. He shared with us several news items for the ZOO with expansion plans as well as a Carousel Project. We spent time prior to the meeting organizing and getting the items we purchased for the Willow Point Nursing Home annual Holiday gift party coming up on December 14th. We have a few members scheduled to be there for the event, but all are welcome to join if you're free at 2:00 that Sunday!
50/50 - $20 was won - I was wrapping presents and didn't hear the winner called out!
Fines - Total funds rasied was a recent HIGH of $54! The only fine I heard was Aaron saying that the Bengals were going to beat the Bills and we all KNOW how that turned out! I was wrapping presents (see a theme here?), so I didn't write anything down and my memory isn't what it used to be! LOL
Member tidbits: There were announcements for MANY upcoming dates to note for the club! Starting w/ THE Holiday party being hosted by the Davey's on Friday, Dec 12th. The next day, December 13th, is the Food Drive Distribution. Willow Point on December 14th. December 20th is the Ring the Bell event at Walmart. AND… Coats for Kids is scheduled for December 29th.
