6/20 Speaker Notes-
Speaker was Paula Perna, an expert on ALICE, (Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed). These are people just at or above the poverty line living on a “Survival budget”; often choosing between food and utility bills. Paula’s focus on Community Grans are the people in this category. Poverty line in US is considered $27,750 for a family of 4, and $18,000 for a family of 2. The number living at ALICE level is significantly higher than poverty.
