Whew! We got through our busy month of August! A big thank you to those who worked and helped with the Dick’s Open. Special thanks to Tom Latini, Becky Hessler, and the Johnson’s for organizing and assisting all of us to stay on task. A few others, like Kim Potter, Dave Baker, and Jim Macuch also were on the course helping out in various capacities. We were continually complimented for our friendliness and efficiency in taking care of our customers.
Everyone seemed to have a great time and enjoyed some fun and relaxation at our annual picnic at Round Top. “Mucho Gracias” to Darlene Leonard and Sam Lupo.
On September 15th we look forward to a visit from our District Governor, Rocky Martinez…we’ll learn more about our District, CNY Rotary and Rotary’s goals. Our “road show” about the GFJ Monument Restoration project continues to move forward in a very positive fashion…just ask Brian Steele and he’ll tell you all about it.
We wish our member educators a great start to the new school year. May it be exciting and rewarding. Just “imagine” what a fantastic educational year is in store for our students, teachers, and parents! “Imagine” what this year will be for you and Rotary!
The foundation has been receiving several requests for funding this summer. Last month we sponsored the Gusto Festival. Pickett's Painting has been hired to paint the interior of Community Hall at the Endicott Visitor Center; this will happen in the fall when the center is not booked. We have also approved funding for childhood fire prevention safety for the Endicott Fire Department, $400.00, for booklets to be given to children. Additionally, the club delivered hygiene products and a $1,000 check for to the YWCA.
I would like to personally thank everyone who volunteered at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open this year. We always have a great time building fellowship and camaraderie.
In an effort to promote transparency, I will be updating the club once a month on the foundation's business at one of our regular club meetings.
Thank you,
Tom Latini

Endicott Rotary assisted the Endwell Rotary Club with their Lithium-Ion Battery recycling project. We collected 5 barrels of batteries, phones, laptops and other rechargeable electronics. Thank you to Mario Salati, Kris Cunningham and Brian Steele for volunteering.
