  • WE NEED RUNNERS!
  • On Thursday we had the pleasure of hearing from the new Wood River Parks & Recreation Director Pat Minogue. He is a St. Louis native and a Mizzou grad with a couple of degrees. After a brief stint as a car wash manager he has worked the the parks and rec field the last several years, in East Alton and Belleville. Pat provided an overview of the WR Parks & Recreation department and what they are responsible for. He then went on a deep dive about the new rec center. They are off and running. TylerL is the facilities manager and oversees an amazing variety of programs and activities.To find out more ink here http://www.wrparks.org By the way, if you are involved with the Silver Sneakers program the rec centers programs are free.
  • WE NEED RUNNERS!
  • Our Color Run is scheduled for June 1st @ Belk. We still need  runners. Runners can register @ Belk on the 1st. Registration opens @ 8AM with racing starting @ 9AM. Please share the particulars with everyone in your social media circle of friends, family and co-workers. Details are below. You can sign-up via the QR code or http://RotaryColorRun.com

  • Good to have DaveA back in the house.
  • BillP was in the house early to do some Zooming. 
  • Post-nooners included CoryG, SherryT, SandyS, LeonardB and BradP.
  • The producers of the TV reality show Bar Rescue better buckle up. They have met their match in SherryT. Filming at her Airliner Bar & Grill will begin late next month.
  • The SRI (slide right in)  crowd featured-TylerL, ChrisH and BradP.
  • WE NEED RUNNERS!
  • Opening duties were handled by LeonardB and MarkA.
  • 17 members dined on cheezy noodles, mixed veggies, garlic bread, salad and cuppies.
  • SAA Patti fined everyone not sporting their name badges and those not signed-up to help with the race.
  • BradP and RickH took a futile stab at finding the joker. Guest Pat won the scratchie.

I’ve lived in the Wood River/Bethalto area all my life. 
I was in the first graduating class of St. Kevin’s Grade School, 1968. 
A 1972 graduate of Roxana High School. Where I played football, wrestled and played baseball for Hall of Fame Coaches Charlie Raich and Larry Milazzo. 
Worked at Colonial Baking Company for ten years, working in the bake shop and left as Assistant Sales  Manager. 
Worked at Prairie Farms Dairy as an Area Sales Representative and retired 31 years later as Regional Sales Manager-Ice Cream Division. 
I’ve been married to my wife Cathi for twenty-eight years. We have five kids, eleven grandkids and three great-grand kids. 
Most of our leisure time is following our grand-daughters playing sports especially softball. 
I’ve been a member of:
  St. Kevin’s School Board
  Bethalto Boys & Girls Club Board
  Holy Angels Parish Finance Committee 
  Madison County Stormwater Commission 
  City of Wood River City Council for nine years,
  Three years as Mayor, currently.
