POST-MEETING POW-WOW
Our January 30th (this coming Thursday) meeting will be held at the Riverbend Family Ministries facility-131 E. Ferguson in Wood River. Lunch is provided.
Ty introduced our program presenter, Jacob Sherer, owner of Sherer Chiropractic/Sport Performance. He has offices in Jerseyville and Godfrey. Jake is all about sports medicine and finding ways to help athletes perform better, while minimizing the risk of injury. It's his opinion that a well planned kettle ball workout beats a visit to a gym. He pointed out that the best fitness program can't out train a bad nutritional program. Be advised that if sometime in the future you find our Prez in the MMA octagon, it started here.
Our club will celebrate its 50th anniversary in October 2021. Your thoughts on what to do??
Allen, Darren and Pat were the first of 21 members to arrive. Post-nooners included Paul, Randy, Joe and ChrisH.
Allen reminded us that kids do say the darndest things.
Our condolences to Prez Brad on the passing of his mother. May she rest in peace.
Is 50 degrees too cold to play a round of golf? Paul thinks so. He and Joe recently returned from Mickeyville and being hosted by MarkS.
The buffet featured a red meat disc w/brown gravy, Rotary g-beans, full jacket smashed taters, slaw, rolls, cookies and pudding x 2.
Dave is considering getting some "ink". Perhaps a B-52?
Let's take a moment to thank Bill for his member grief support the past three months.
Patty made sure the home loan was expedited and approved so that her basement dwellers could move into their own happy love nest.
Sandy had good news for all Wood River Township residents. The assessment reduction/freeze cards are in the mail.
Opening duties were performed by Ty, ChrisL and Bill, who was thankful for the forthcoming fleecing opportunity...
And fleece they did... SAA Chris recruited Randy to do the heavy lifting. Not here last week? Pay a $. Is it me or are the trivia Q's getting more difficult? We missed 3 out of 4 on Thursday.
Patty and Rick passed on the $19 50-50, Sandy claimed the scratch-off.
That's it, have a fine and dry weekend. Ciao! LET'S ASSESS THIS CONVERSATION

Also serving as one of the longest rivers in the world, the Amazon River is the widest on Earth. Stretching 4,000 miles through South America, the Amazon swells to an incredible 24.8 miles across at its widest point during the rainy season. Even in the dry season it's impressive, reaching 6.8 miles across. These numbers don't take into account the Amazon's many estuaries and deltas, which can be even wider. All told, the Amazon makes up the biggest drainage system on the planet

MY 1ST ROTARACT PRECONVENTION
By Viviana Bennett, president, Plano Community Rotaract Club, Texas
I get very excited when it comes to Rotary events, and the 2019 Rotaract Preconvention was no exception. It was one of the most breathtaking experiences of my Rotary journey so far. I attended my first Preconvention and Convention in Hamburg, Germany, in 2019, and had an amazing experience meeting fellow Rotaractors and Rotarians from all around the world.
I am originally from Colombia, where I first joined Interact and have been a member of Rotaract in the United States for 10 years. This preconvention was also my first time in Europe, which made the experience even better.
Everything exceeded my expectations. I learned a lot from the breakout sessions, and the general sessions inspired me and reminded me of how great our organization is. I reconnected with longtime friends. For example, I made a good friend during a Rotaract trip in Mexico in 2015, and I was able to see her again in Hamburg. She was just one of the many friends from my previous trips that I was able to reconnected with. I also made new friends, and saw some again a few months later in Canada. I still keep in touch with some of the people I met and can’t wait to see them again in Honolulu.
There’s so much to do during the preconvention. You get to join a roomful of people in listening to great, world-class speakers. Then you can choose smaller sessions that are relevant to you. I attended ones that would help grow my club and district. Everywhere I went, I both learned from and shared ideas with others. It is very interesting to see how members in different countries find so many impressive ideas for their clubs and projects. To continue reading, link herehttps://bit.ly/2tJKLEb

SMILE
Are you involved in any dangerous sports? Well, sometimes I disagree with my wife.
A weasel walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Wow, I've never served a weasel before. what can I get you?" "Pop, "goes the weasel.
I had my patience tested. I'm negative.
I hate spelling errors, you mix up two letters and your whole post is urined.
Practical advice: If all toilets in your house are occupied and you are waiting for one to be free, switch off the WiFi.
