Mark 1 represented the very early arrivals, the early arrivals were Allen, Roger and Lori. Among the 24 members who were left with wings and thighs were Rhonda, Chris 2, Brad 1 and Matt.
Freshly fried and deliciously seasoned chicken was the entree, yum-eee. Smashed taters, mac 'n cheese, g-beans, salad and fruit crisp were also available. The rolls rolled out at 11:47.
Allen and Mark 1 had a fierce discussion about whether the 16oz ribeye or the 11 oz sirloin from the Texas Roadhouse was bigger. Do you want peanuts with that?
It was great to see Mark 2 and Dick return after extended absences. Mark 3 returned from his DC duties.
Patti's 1880 Settlement in Kentucky is a favorite of Roger. He loves the pie-oh-my!
Sherry hosted her last regular meeting with mixed emotions. She was happy to see Bill return from his June sabbatical.
Chris 1 was back, but Sandy and Cory were away. Sandy to the airport, Cory to..?
Red and Helen Littleton's birthday celebration will take place on Tuesday July 29th, 2-4PM. Anyone up for a run to Jacksonville?
Sherry read a thank you from the Ursch/Speciale family regarding our recent donation.
Rhonda announced that the Wood River club will be selling a limited number of $25/$40 tickets for viewing the Alton fireworks from the Cracker Factory rooftop. (Rhonda sent an email to everyone with the details on Thursday).
Opening duties were provided by Paul, Rhonda and Bill, who thanked the Lord for shorts weather and fried chicken.
SAA Bill recruited Mark 3 for bag duties. We found out that Chris 2 is still happily married at the 1 month pole. The trivia questions were all about Rotary-Governor Huff, Toronto, Canada and Polio Plus. Allen nailed the Cards question.
50-50 cards were drawn by Dick and Joe, Lindsey received the scratch-off. No one won. The $135 jackpot rolls to July.
That's all from here. Have a fine and dry weekend.

A larger than life youth exchange experience
JOE IN GERMANY
By Joel Dzuba, Rotary Exchange Student from Ontario, Canada, to Lower Saxony, Germany
It would be impossible to pick a favourite memory from my exchange in Germany due to the sheer number of opportunities I had and dreams I lived. From sailing in the Baltic Sea, to walking in the North Sea, to swimming in the Mediterranean, there are simply too many experiences to pick a favourite.
One of the many stories that I do love to share, however, was when I was celebrating my 18th birthday during our year-end European Tour. All the exchange students had gathered on the beach at night to watch the stars in the little town of Portofino, Italy, and eventually I found myself sitting back to back on a rock with a Brazilian student, a Russian student, and a Taiwanese student. In all of my life, no other moment has ever made me feel so paradoxical as that night.
On the one hand, I felt so incredibly small when I realized where I was sitting and with whom I was sitting; as I was just a boy from Ontario who suddenly found himself halfway across the world, with people who would maybe only have a one in a billion chance of meeting together in any other circumstance. And yet, on the other hand I had never felt so large in comparison to the vastness of the world, and the borders as I had pictured them. The world suddenly felt like it had shrunk, and that there was nowhere that was out of my reach anymore. To continue reading, link herehttp://bit.ly/2kgQbiD
