On Thursday we were joined by LCCC Work Force Training Coordinator Beth Arrowsmith who provided an overview of the program. The college now offers training in these areas-educational paraprofessional, phlebotomy, avionics, welding, truck driving (2 types of CDL licenses) and, soon, sheetmetal work. Certification takes a few weeks of training and usually results in immediate employment. Beth is always looking for new training program suggestions.
In one of his last official duties, Prez Mark led the review of the proposed changes to our bylaws. The biggest change is in the R85 rule. In order to qualify for the designation a member must have a combined age and years of service equal to 85.
On the 11th we welcomed our newest member Filip Markovic.
Opening duties were covered by MarkA, BradP and GlennB.
Congrats to Prez-Elect Patti on her 27 years of club service.
Our Installation Dinner will be held this Thursday in the Belk Park event space. Catering by Food A Fare. Fellowship @ 5:30, dinner and program to follow @ 6.
Birthday wishes go out to GeorgeM on the 23rd.
GlennB announced that Helmkamp Construction is our Business of the Year winner. Two representatives of the company will be on hand at the Installation Dinner to accept the award.

Prez Mark was a bit nostalgic standing behind the podium for the last time as club president. He has had a heck of year as our leader, a job well done!
PattiA thanked everyone who assisted in some way with our Color Run. Your hard work and financial assistance allowed us to donate $2,200 to the Tyler Timmons Memorial Fund. A well done to Patti!
Prez Mark read a thank you note for our recent donation to the EA-WR High School Special Ed department.
Our golf tournament is on Saturday July 18th @ Belk. As of Thursday JoeS had verbal commitments from 23 teams. He has a goal of 32 teams. Please encourage all your golf buddies/work associates/family members to consider joining us for this fun event. Take a photo of the flyer and send to all the golfers in your contact list. There were 20 members dining on chicken breast in gravy, mashed taters, Rotary g-beans, rolls, salad and the very popular cinnamon rolls.
Next month we will be moving to the updated ClubRunner platform called Nova. Since each of us use the current platform in different ways, it's hard to say just what changes you may experience. (ClubRunner promises a great experience). So, buckle up and be prepared for some new experiences. See you on the other side...
SAA RickH had a reduced role, but that didn't stop him from collecting a few $$ from Happy Fines and shameless plugs. We also did a nice job singing the birthday song to GeorgeM.

The northern lights (aka aurora borealis) is an astronomical phenomenon that occurs when energetic particles from the sun collide with gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere. When charged particles collide with oxygen molecules at an altitude of between 60 and 185 miles above ground, they create a green color, which is the most commonly seen color in the northern lights, though you may also see hints of red, violet, and white as well.

RodneyD presented a Paul Harris Fellowship award to 103 year old Gladys Kelly.
JoeS observed that for the first time in his life his son was employed and he was not.

Kathmandu Interact club earns global recognition for building peace
The Interact Club of Kathmandu, Nepal, has received the Best Video honor in the 2025 Interact Awards, winning against more than 350 Interact clubs participating worldwide for sharing how the club unites for good and builds peace.
The Kathmandu club’s submission spotlighted a service activity focused on purushatwa, which means masculinity in Nepali, to promote positive masculinity and address the often-overlooked challenges faced by boys and men.
The service activity created an open dialogue about purushatwa through an art competition, a panel discussion, both of which encouraged empathy, respect, and understanding. Favoring kindness over social stigma, the project empowered young people to reflect, learn, and contribute to a more peaceful community.
The video also showcases the strength of intergenerational service. The project brought together Interact, Rotaract, and Rotary club members, demonstrating the power of collaboration across generations.
