District Governor Ryan Byers presented Thursday's program. After presenting LoriP with her Paul Harris+3 pin he offered greeting from the RI President and explained elements of the 2021-22 Rotary theme "Serve to Change Lives" (and gave everyone a lapel pin.) He wryly observed that Rotary is a lapel pin based organization. Ryan went on to praise us for our social media presence and for hitting the ground running as a new club. He encouraged us to find a signature event with the 10 other clubs in the Metro-East area. Ryan suggested that everyone make a contribution to the Rotary Foundation and praised it's high rating by Charity Navigator. Ryan closed his presentation by talking about the three priorities established by our RI President-Each on bring one, a day of service and empowering girls.
After LoriP received her PHF+3 she spent a few moments talking about her 21 years of service (thanks to AllenH for recruiting her) and what it has meant to her. She then presented a Paul Harris Fellowship award to her friend Robin Karlas

There were 24 members in the house on Thursday. Early arrivals included LoriP, MarkS, RodC and AllenH.
JoeS covered for Prez Lindsey and managed to cover all the agenda bullet points, just not in order. The bell ring to start the meeting was strong, the bell ting at the close, weak.
Is there a spy in the house tipping off members who are in a holding pattern in the parking lot as soon the the lids are removed from the chaffing dishes??

Happy Birthday to BillP on the 15th. (We trust he found a seat in the shade @ Busch on Thursday.)
Baseball Mania winners this past week were ChrisL and RobinK, 10 bucks each.
RodC returned from his medical issue with plans established to return to Arizona this winter.
Our lunch entree was a bit tricky to figure out. Was it beef 'n noodles with gravy veggies? Was it a vegan beef stew? Was it a meal kit? At any rate, there were also rolls, salad and brownies on the table.
SandyS is not afraid to ask the tough questions, just ask JoeS.
RhondaB was sporting an "I Fly Smart" signature mask. What's that mean?
LeonardB served as the SAA and offered a list of one-liners alternately read by Gov Ryan and BradP. No one should consider giving up their day jobs. RickH offered high praise for the flush toilets found in the concession building next to the Liberty Amphitheater in Alton.
Opening duties were handled by Mark (not sure which one), DaveA and JohnP.
Post-nooners included LeonardB, MarkA, CoryG and MarkV.
Once again, no 50-50 cards, so, ScottL and SteveD. JoeS received the scratch-off.

The Missouri capital name has 13 letters. RhondaB visited the WR meeting to provide some details about the upcoming Cosmic Bingo event.
LoriP indicated that there is the possibility that the EA and WR clubs would share long-term exchange student hosting duties.
DebK and hubby Tim's wedding anniversary was recognized at the WR meeting.
SherryT and SandyS were welcomed to BillP's table by saying "There's always room among the privileged."
WR Club Secretary DonnaK reminded everyone to sell raffle tickets.
LoriP announced that the EA club made $1,085 on Baseball Mania ticket sales.
AlanaY paid a Happy Fine in honor of her wedding anniversary with Denny and her 35th high school reunion.
PaulH and DaveM handled opening duties at the EA meeting.
CherylM and LeonardB paid Happy Fines at the WR meeting.
MarkA announced that there were 32 folks signed up for the Family Cookout taking place in one week.
WR VP MikeK introduced the meeting guests.
RhondaB told everyone that all the crosswalk slots for the Soap Box race are covered.
WR SAA PaulG fined AlanaY for not having a dog (at the meeting??)
AllenH won the EA 50-50 and donated his winnings back to the club. Nice!
MikeK's birthday was recognized at the WR meeting by the singing of the Birthday Song.
BillP volunteered to help RhondaB with the Christmas party arrangements.
