HENRY & RODNEY PLEA BARGAINING WITH RACHELLE
NEWS-NOTES-NONSENSE
On Thursday SandyS introduced Rachelle Aud Crowe, recently appointed U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois. The district covers the southernmost 38 counties of Illinois. She observed that we were the first non-law enforcement group that she has addressed. Rachelle told us that the appointment process took about a year. Once her nomination reached the U.S. Senate her appointment was approved unanimously. The three offices in the district are staffed by 34 attorneys and 30 support staff. Rachelle is working hard to build trust across all law enforcement agencies serving in the Southern Illinois jurisdiction. She concluded by talking about some of the scams that are going on in our area-Felony Lane Game, Money Mules and cash to Bitcoin.
Friendly reminder-please move the tip box and 50-50 bin to another table when everyone at your table has had the opportunity to "donate".

Focusing on the comfort and care of our members
August is Membership and New Club Development Month. One of RI President Jennifer Jones' initiatives is to focus on the comfort and care of our members, and Membership Month is the perfect time to make sure that your club provides a welcoming experience. Members are more likely to stay if we listen to them and understand what they want out of Rotary. Here are a few ideas for helping people feel valued and involved:
Take the Best Practices for Engaging Members course to develop strategies for engaging people at all stages of membership, or the Creating an Inclusive Club Culture course to discover ways to become more inclusive, diverse, and equitable.
Make sure your members know that they can develop their leadership skills with professional development courses.
Help your club improve its member experience, service and social events, public image, and operations by taking the Is Your Club Healthy? course.
Remember that for any Learning Center course, you’ll need a My Rotary account.
