The Rotary Youth Leadership Academy 2025 is designed to inspire and empower the next generation of young leaders. Our club will be sponsoring six students this year.
This year’s theme, "The Magic of Rotary," offers students opportunities to grow, connect, and lead with Rotary's core values guiding the way.
The academy is set for April 11-13, 2025, at Lake Williamson in Carlinville, Ill.
The event will feature engaging activities, team-building exercises, and powerful leadership lessons framed around the word "magic."
M: Making Friends - We’re Not Really Strangers
Participants will dive into the power of connection through icebreakers and conversations, proving that in the Rotary community, we’re all friends from the start.
A: Adventure - RYE
Get ready to embark on an exciting journey as Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) alumni and current participants share their international adventures and the life-changing experiences that come with global engagement. This session is led by Rebound, a group of former outbound exchange students.
G: Get It? - Rotary 101
A foundational session that will help participants understand Rotary’s mission, history and the incredible impact of Service Above Self.
I: Integrity - 2 Truths and a Lie
A fun yet thought-provoking activity will encourage honesty, trust, and the importance of integrity in leadership.
C: Communication - Students will explore the vital role communication plays in effective leadership and building strong communities.
Students will also complete a food pack service event organized by Midwest Missions. This activity exemplifies the power of local service projects, giving RYLA students real-world examples of how Rotary clubs impact communities locally and globally.
