There were 19 ballots submitted for the 2016-17 Program of the Year (a record number). Tied for 3rd place was Randy's CPR program and the Roxana High School Ensemble. 2nd place honors went to Dave's Dixieland Band. The overall winner was the program presented by Post-Dispatch reporter Pat Gauen.
17 members dined on vintage ham, rice 'n broccoli medley, g-beans (yes, they're back), salads-fruit and noodle, cookies and cake.
Brad 2 was the first to arrive at 11:42. Allen, Mark 1 and Lori followed. Rhonda, Cory, Brad 1 and Chris 1 were among the last arrivals.

The final Baseball Mania numbers will show about a $1500 net. Thanks to all who sold. Good luck to all buyers!
It took only one game for exchange student Dani to become a disciple of Cardinal Nation. Thanks to Lindsey, she was able to attend the game on the 24th (that's a winner!). Dani is returning today to Chile. We wish her only the best. We were indeed fortunate to host such a wonderful young lady. Thanks to Deb and her family for providing wonderful family support this past year and to Sherry for coordinating all the details of Dani's stay. Dani plans to return next May to attend the high school graduation of her "sister" Sara.
Rick subbed for SAA Lindsey and recruited Rhonda to serve as the bucket gal. Trivia topics included poop, baseball and blockbuster. We hope that Lindsey will not forget Chris 2's birthday next Thursday.
Anyone else besides Allen and Mark 1 having AC woes?
Prez Bill loves to bring the hammer down on the bell. He even included some Latin with the closing ring.
Paul presented Brad 2 with his Paul Harris Fellowship award.
Lori wound up with a tree branch on her car because of last Sunday's storm. Somehow Rodney was to blame.
Darren's Rotary badge went missing, but only for a moment.
Opening duties were provided by Chris 2, Rhonda and Darren
The $15 50-50 jackpot is safe after Allen and one of our guest speakers failed to find the joker.
That's all from here. Have a fine, dry weekend.

Solar lamp project delivers light in Belize
By Audrey Cochran, a member of the Rotary Club of Northwest Austin, Texas, USA
Tonight Amelia Ramirez sits with her younger siblings at their kitchen table. A stack of books sit on the table and Amelia smiles as she reads. She no longer fears being burned by a kerosene lamp. The fumes that had irritated her eyes and made her cough are gone. She no longer begs her mother to stop before her school work is done because of the heat, the bugs, and the fumes caused by the kerosene lamp she was previously forced to use. Amelia’s family received a solar lamp from Rotary District 5870.
Nearly one quarter of the world population lives without access to electricity or safe light. As a result millions suffer from burn injuries each year, most of which are children. These families see by kerosene lamps, candles and open flames, all of which are dangerous and toxic. To continue reading, click herehttp://bit.ly/2uNPB23

SMILE
A new pastor was visiting the homes of his parishioners.
At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door. Therefore, he took out a card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door. When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, Genesis 3:10."
Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid, for I was naked."
