TURKEY FUND PRESENTATION
NEWS-NOTES-NONSENSE
Today is our day to ring the bells. Don't forget to show up for your shift. Santa is watching you!
On Thursday we heard a very interesting program about the Vaughn Hill Cemetery. It was presented by Lynn Engelman, President of the Wood River Heritage Council. The Vaughn family were one of the early settlers in the area and may have provided some supplies for the Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery adventure. After being neglected for many years a drive to restore the cemetery began in the mid 80's. Berry, Kendall and Haller are some of the family surnames buried among the 136 marked graves (there are also at least 56 unmarked graves).
The Christmas Wonderland sign-up sheet is now circulating. We'll be dancing among Grandpa's lights on December 17th, 5:30-9:30.
Congrats to MarkSm who has been nominated for and accepted the position of club president during the 2025-26 Rotary year. JoeS has agreed to serve as our Youth Services rep.
Early arrivals included RodC, AllenH and MarkA.
Our Christmas party is scheduled for December 19th. We will be fellowshipping and noshing at Julia's. Musical entertainment will be provided by RHS students. Please reference your email from Prez Bill on Tuesday for all the details and to accept or decline your invitation.
Birthday greetings go out to Ty on the 8th and DaveA and ChrisH on the 10th.
The snow birds have began to migrate. WendellR is off to Columbia, MarkA and RodC depart for FL and Az over the next few weeks.
Congrats to JoeS on his 25 years of club service and GeorgeM on 26 years.
The Slide Right In (SRI) crowd was represented by-PattiA, MarkV and MikeK.
Post-nooners included MikeK, MarkV, JohnP and ChrisH.
SAA Patti fned everyone not wearing their badge. Did you dine on a Thanksgiving protein not called turkey? Pay a $.
Once again we had 20 members dining on a pasta bar, steamed broccoli, garlic bread, salad and small desserts.
BradP took the first shot at the $30 jackpot, MarkSm took the second. At least he also won the scratch-off.
Opening duties were covered by MarkV, MarkA and JohnP.

With just three counties, Delaware has the fewest in the nation, just ahead of Hawaii and Rhode Island, which have five each. The state with the most counties is Texas, with a whopping 254. Overall, there are a total of 3,243 counties and county-equivalents in the United States.

The EA "This Is Your Life" 5th Thursday program presenter was RickH.
RHS Junior Rotarians Brookelyn and Brianna Tarpley enjoyed lunch with the WR club.
ChrisH was circulating the donation box for our adoption family.
Happy Fines were paid by PaulG and GeorgeT.
There was a rumor about WendellR's wife Deisy serving as Santa Claus for the Winter wonderland event.
The WR $506 jackpot rolled.
MarkV announced that there were still two spots to fill on the Salvation Army bell ringing list.
PattiA and GeorgeM were thanked for assisting with the Community Hope Center's thanksgiving program.
SandyS was not going to run for mayor of Madison.
PattiA fined everyone who did not assist with bell ringing.
The EA Christmas party was scheduled for December 14th at the Bluff City Grill.
The basketball tournament was scheduled for February 3rd.
MarkA was recovering from knee replacement surgery.
