NEWS-NOTES-NONSENSE
On Thursday we watched a live video feed from Mbabene, Swaziland with Mbabene Rotary Club Prez-Elect Skhumbuzo Mbuyisa-Mbuluzi talking about the proposed medical facility project partnership.

Early arrivals included Prez Rodney, MarkA and AllenH.
We were joined by three scholarship students, three RYLA participants and two counselors from RHS. Former RYLA District Coordinator Cathy Jo Littleton-Wahl also joined the festivities.The RYLA kids really enjoyed the opportunity to learn leadership skills and a great time during the weekend event last month. The scholarship students expressed career interest in auto mechanics, teaching and criminology.

MikeK was the last to arrive @12:14. MarkV, WendellR and ChrisH arrived just prior.
The SRI (slide right in) crowd included ChrisH, WendellR and MikeK.
Opening duties were handled by PaulH, RickH and MarkA who ended grace with a singing amen.
With 18 members, six students and two counselors in attendance, we had a full house, and it was nice, We dined on sliced pork, potato planks, Caesar salad and cookies.
Happy Fines were paid by LoriP, RobinK and MarkS in recognition of Mark recently ringing the cancer free bell. SAA Patti posed musical trivia Q's. We got 3 out of 5 correct. It's time for Cher to Turn Back Time!
The $350 +/- jackpot was left on the table by BillP, who had two opportunities to locate the joker amongst the remaining 11 cards. Didn't happen. MikeK won the scratch-off. There are now 9 cards left in the deck.

Memphis barbecue is known first and foremost for ribs, but regardless of the cut, the meat will always be pork, typically pork ribs and shoulder. Before being cooked, Memphis barbecue gets a dry rub of brown sugar, salt, pepper, and spices, depending on the chef. While it cooks, the meat is slathered with a tomato-based sauce.

The WR club was mourning the death of long-time member Max Emery. Max was the embodiment of Service Above Self and community involvement. Not only did he chair the Fruit Sale, Salvation Army Bell Ringing and scholarship committee projects, he was there to help at virtually all club activities.
Current members serving as club officers-GeorgeM, ChrisH, ScottL, LoriP, GeorgeT and CoryG.
The EA club was treated to a presentation about CB and ham radio by Dave Miller. The WR club heard from Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center Site Manager Brad Winn.
There was a position shuffle at the EA meeting-ChrisH served as acting Prez, AllenH served as treasurer in CoryG's absence. It was noted that LoriP was in the house to bring calm to the proceedings.
TammyI was inducted as a member of the WR club.
The RHS scholarship students were on hand at the EA meeting while EA-WR Junior Rotarians Brandon Cory and Heather Rose broke bread with the WR members.
The WR club voted for the Mouse Race event as the next club fund raiser.
LoriP reminded everyone that Baseball Mania tix were still available.
ScottL fined several WR members for not answering Q's about the recent district newsletter
GeorgeT paid a $5 Happy Fine in honor of his upcoming natal day.

ROTARY WASH ACTION GROUP
The WASH Rotary Action Group was formed in 2007 by a group of Rotarians, recognized by Rotary International, and focused on WASH projects. Since then it has facilitated many hundreds of projects – helping clubs find partners, ensuring sustainability, stressing the importance of a needs-driven approach, and developing best practices. We encourage a holistic, integrated approach in which water is not the end in itself, but is rather the means to a better life and livelihood in the community. Most importantly, WASH Rotary Action Group links water and sanitation to improved hygiene, better health, and empowerment of the community – especially women, irrigation and agriculture, education and literacy and, ultimately, child mortality.
As a Rotary Action Group, WASH invites Rotarians from around the world to join them and engage in the battle to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene for all. Any Rotarian interested in supporting us can get involved with our activities and be Linked to global WASH assistance efforts.
Rotary Action Groups are independent, Rotary-affiliated groups made up of people from around the world who are experts in a particular field, such as economic development, peace, addiction prevention, the environment, or water.
Action groups offer their technical expertise and support to help clubs plan and implement projects to increase our impact, one of Rotary's strategic priorities. This support includes helping clubs find partners, funding, and other resources. Action groups can also help clubs and districts prepare grant applications, conduct community assessments, and develop plans to monitor and evaluate their projects. Anyone who wants to share their expertise to make a positive difference can join an action group. Only Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Rotary Peace Fellows can serve in leadership roles.
