Prez-Elect BillP announced that our Installation Dinner would be held on June 27th @ Julia's. Fellowship @ 5:30, dinner to follow.
LeonardB was the last to arrive @ 12:13. DaveA, GeorgeM ChrisH were among the other post-nooners.

We welcomed visiting Rotarian Diane from the Riverbend club.
The SRI (slide right in) crowd was well represented-PattiA, JohnP, MarkSm, ChrisH, DaveA and LeonardB.
Birthday greetings go out to MarkV and MarkA on the 5th!
Opening duties were handled by BradP, LeonardB and KendraG.
16 members dined on pork loin, chezzy new taters, rolls, salad and cake.
SAA Patti fined everyone who did not BBQ on Memorial Day. LeonardB paid a Happy Fine.
MarkSm and Diane each had the opportunity to find the joker, neither were successful. The scratch-off went to BradP.

WR members heard a presentation from the MadCo Regional School Superintendent while the EA club found out about Midwest Members Credit Union.
MarkSp and AllenH were among the early-bird arrivals and joined 17 other members at Julia's Mexican buffet.
The WR Installation of Officers event was scheduled for June 23rd @ Belk.
We found out that LoriP was a big fan of Boston and Blue Oyster Cult.
JeanK, DonnaK and GeorgeT were thanked for organizing the lemon shake-ups at the recent Bark in the Park event. Worker bees included-PattiA, PaulG, LeonardB, DaveA and CherylM.
There's some concern that Julia's may be haunted by the ghost of Mr. McCrory.
WendellR was drafted to find a fix for the broken bell.
Thanks went out to DaveA for organizing the blood drive.
Happy Fines were paid by GeorgeT, MikeK and JeanK.
SAA BillP and lugmeister SherryT collected a bunch of $$.
SandyS and MikeK were unable to claim the 50-50 jackpots.
CherylM was the meeting greeter while MikeK introduced the visitors.

Mother-daughter duo: Rotary Youth Exchange is experience of a lifetime

I have been hosting Rotary Youth Exchange students since my daughter, Sabrina, was a year old. She was my first child in a big family. I have three sisters; she was the first niece and first granddaughter. I knew everyone would spoil her.
I wanted her to have sisters and brothers and learn how to share. I wanted her to grow up in an open environment with an open mind, knowing her limits reached beyond our city or our country to the world. Hosting exchange students allowed me to provide all this for her. And from the beginning, she was very excited about it.
She used to love teaching the exchange students things she was learning herself at a young age: how to speak and write. She loved sharing our culture in simple ways. During visits to the supermarket, she enjoyed introducing Cris, my first exchange student “daughter” from Mexico, to our local fruits. I would instruct them to “stay near me” only to find them a few minutes later in the fruit aisle, laughing and having a great time.
She taught but also learned how to be polite with Seraina, the sweetest Swiss student we have ever met. She learned how to always see the good things in life from Tosia, our lovely exchange student from Poland, and to be ambitious like Tracey, the most American of her American sisters. And she even learned how to be a bit sassy with Brian, her first exchange brother. As a result, she now has sisters and brothers worldwide and goes on family trips every year to visit her siblings.
