On Thursday we viewed a video presentation byJenny Stotts called Rotary Happy! Her energetic presentation makes some great points. Jenny appeared via Zoom at the recent District 6460 Conference. If you would like to view her presentation you can link here https://vimeo.com/510510001
We had 22 members in the house on Thursday and six joining us via Zoom, but not regular Zoomies Leonard or Bill.

RodC announced that our $1000 donation toward an international project will be for a very worthy sanitation project in the African nation of Zambia.

Our Music Bingo event takes place this Friday, March 12th. RhondaB requests that you send in your pay-to-play donation ASAP so that she isn't swamped trying to send everyone their link for the event. She encourages everyone to continue sharing info about our Music Bingo night via all your personal and social network contacts. There is no limit to how many participants we have that evening. There will be 6 or 7 rounds of BINGO. This IS NOT trivia, you don't need to know anything about music, just match the song title on the screen with the titles on your electronic bingo card.
RhondaB also announced that we will probably make about $1000 on the auction. To date, the auction items have had about 4,000 views. Good exposure for our club.

LindseyH announced that our Virtual Color Run is under way. Adult registration is $30, kids are $25. You received an email from Lindsey this past Tuesday with the flyer and sponsorship forms attached. The event is scheduled for the June 4-6 weekend. It's time to start promoting this great event. Wood River Chief of Police Brad Wells is in the process or organizing a Small Business Saturday event on November 27th in downtown WR, according to LindseyH. There will be a 5-K event and vendor booths as part of the event. Lindsey wants to know if we are interested?
PattiA reported that she had a smooth experience receiving her first vaccine shot Thursday morning @ the
Gateway Center in Collinsville, in and out in about 15 minutes.
SAA SherryT sent some trivia Q's for Prez Chris to use on the meek and mild members. Lindsey almost needed two hands to tote the overflowing $$ bucket. We only answered one trivia question successfully ( see the aforementioned Egyptian wood question as an example). Then Lindsey requested that if you did not have a library card, pay a $.
LoriP has your pack of 10 Baseball Mania tickets. Each ticket sells for $10. Complete the bottom of each ticket and return with payment to her. We keep 65% of each ticket sold. The contest begins in July and runs 10 weeks. There are 35 weekly winners, from $10 to $250. If you win, look for a check in the mail. Online versions will be available soon.
Lucky Tommie and Lucky Lori had a chance at the 50-50 jackpot. Not so lucky. SteveD won the scratch-off.

The three Rotary Club joint meeting would be held on March 24th @ the Wood River Knights of Columbus Hall.
JoeS covered the SAA duties during RickH's February absence. Rick presented two make-ups from the Coconut Grove Florida Rotary club.
Long time Rotarian Max Emery was accepting visitors to his home following surgery and before starting chemotherapy treatment.
MarkS claimed he drew the 50-50 joker. In fact, the card was "up his sleeve".
JImH missed his opportunity to claim the $295 Queen of Hearts jackpot.
SamB told the WR club about his Judge Nothing band reunion performance.
Thanks to RhondaB for coordinating the recent Trivia Night. There were about 125 participants.

Create and take part in meaningful virtual exchanges It’s as important as ever to offer students exchange opportunities. But how, when many of them are spending most of their time at home and many countries have travel restrictions? Virtual exchanges. These are an engaging alternative to in-person exchanges and still provide young people with an opportunity to interact and collaborate with people from other cultures and communities.Virtual exchanges are not a new idea, but they are a relatively new experience for many districts that are certified to participate in Rotary Youth Exchange. We recently held a webinar with Rotary Youth Exchange leaders to discuss virtual exchanges and answer questions about them.
