Inspiration:
Train your mind to see the good in everything.  Positivity is a choice.  The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.  Stephanie Bennett-Henry once said, No one is going to love you exactly like you imagine.  No one is ever going to read your mind and take every star from the sky at the perfect time and hand it to you.  Do you understand?  That’s why you have to love yourself enough, so that any other love just adds more candles to the cake you’ve already iced.

Club Meeting:

Our next Club Meeting will begin on Thursday March 3rd at 7:45am via Zoom only at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85151551208 for the foreseeable future.

Board of Director's Meeting
Will be held the 2nd Thursday of the month.

President's Message: Michael Caslin
My fellow Rotarians,

On this date in 1634, the first tavern in Boston opens at Cole’s Inn and referenced by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in his play John Endicott as the Three Mariners.  The connection between sanitation and the boiling to make beer was poorly understood at the time, but everyone knew.  Those who drank beer and ale didn’t get sick.  This brewhouse was an indispensable priority in the new settlement.  Like Cole’s Inn, Rotary is indispensable in raising spirits for the people in the communities that we serve.

Yours in Service,

Michael

Last Week's Club Meeting
Alley had a great idea about co-sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive due to national blood shortages.  Ellen has found a location to host the event at at Andrew's Hall in Lunenburg.  Thank you Alley and Ellen!

Alley is saving and storing plastic bags to help protect our environment.  Alley is offering to store anyone's recycled plastic bags for the same cause.  Wachusett Area Rotary Club is sponsoring a Plastic Bag Recycling Program on Saturday March 20th from 10:00am ~ 2:00pm at The Draught House (The Manor) at 44 West Boylston Street, West Boylston.  Their goal is to collect 500 pounds of plastic bags to create 1 park bench from Trex recycling.  Thank you Alley!

Alley has secured the Fidelity Bank parking lot again this year located at 75 Main Street in Leominster for our May Flowers fundraising event on Saturday, April 30th from 10:00am ~ 2:00pm.  Thank you Alley!

The Club discussed possibly having a Joint Club Cornhole Tournament this summer and possibly making it an annual event.  It would be great doing some joint projects among the Clubs.  I have spoken with Chris of the Fitchburg Club and I'll will reach out to Alex of the Fitchburg East Club, and Johnny of the Leominster club.  I have spoken to Neil, who has generously offered to host one or all of the events at The Gardeners' Spot in Leominster.  He says that he has the space available to host the event and will not charge anything for the venue.   There is additional parking at the High School nearby and he can get a 1-day liquor license and have a food truck on site.  Thank you Neil!

The Club discussed our Krispy Kreme fundraiser event.  I spoke to Neil who is willing to pick up the doughnuts on Wednesday, April 20th.  We will change our Club meeting from Thursday, April 21st to Wednesday, April 20th at 5:00pm.  Neil has generously offered to the Club his upper patio space at no cost.  If the weather is not great, Neil has offered his greenhouse for our meeting.  Our Club meeting will be about fellowship, introducing Rotary to new attendees, and a location pick up for the doughnuts.  The Club decided on selling a box of the Original Glazed Doughnuts at $12.00 per dozen.  I will reach out to the other Club Presidents to see if they are interested in joining our fundraiser with $2.00 per box sold going to their Clubs.   Thank you Neil!
