JAY: ($1) took his grand kids back to college shopping and spent a small fortune.
JIM F: ($2) happy that DG Steve is here and happy to have wife and ADG Karen here as well!
STEPHANIE: ($1) happy for 88% attendance. It's a full room!
JIM H: ($1) sad to have missed last week's meeting. Was in Saratoga!
JOAN: ($1) happy to have DG Steve here and was reminiscing about working at the Holiday Inn and listening to the bands rehearse.
NANCY: ($1) happy to have DG Steve here.
ALLEY: ($2) happy that kids have been with Nana since Sunday and leaving today for a family vacation in the White Mountains!
ELLEN: ($1) for having the energy to have a "Jack Attack" sleepover tonight.
MICHAEL: ($1) happy to be here unexpectedly this week. Flying to Chicago later today.

ANDREA: ($2) sad for the attorney who died in freak car accident with a crowbar and happy to have had a great vacation at OOB with girls.
MELISSA: ($2) happy to see daughter moved into apartment.

MADDIE: ($2) happy that she tried golfing (did terrible) but the ice cream was better than the golf! Sad she has to leave early because she has a meeting.
NIKKI: ($2) happy to get a second Rotary pin and very happy that school is almost back in session.
RICK: ($1) happy that he went to Fenway to see Journey and thank you to Roger for showing up today.
JOANNE:($5) she mowed her own lawn with a push mower! Sad that her basement flooded twice.
ROGER: ($2) happy to be here and meet DG Steve. Gib update...he is back home and doing better.

MAILA: ($3) happy that DG Steve and ADG Karen are here. Happy to be going on vacation for 2 weeks and sad that son is going off to Umass Lowell soon.
JEN: ($2) going to be having a yoga event at her house. And in October, starting a 6 week beginning yoga class at the Yoga Tree.
GUEST ADG KAREN FUSCO: ($2) Sad that the Sox lost, but happy that they'll be on another winning streak next! Happy to be here with President Maila and for DG Steve to be here as well. Karen then donated one of her Rotary pins to Nikki!

CLUB NOTES
*Visioning: dates have been suggested. Still waiting to hear from a few people before committing to a date.
*District Grant: Deb Lapointe created a detailed packet about our district grant. We will discuss at a later date.
*Dictionaries: Joan brought in a case of old dictionaries to donate to Fostering Change Inc.
*Comedy Night: Roger updated the club on his interactions with the country club owner regarding food options. Waiting to finalize before selling tickets.

DISTRICT GOVERNOR STEVEN SAGER introduced by ADG KAREN FUSCO
Steven Sager is a member of the Rotary Club of Westborough, MA. He joined the club in 2000 and served as the club President in the 2004-2005 year. He has also served as an Assistant Governor for Rotary District 7910, a Trustee of District Funds, the District Youth Protection Officer, and the District Parliamentarian. Steve is a graduate and part of the faculty of the Rotary Leadership Institute.
Steve has participated in Foundation funded service projects, including a project his club founded known as the Global Emergency Medicine Initiative (GEMINI). Steve traveled to the Dominican Republic and Guatemala on GEMINI projects bringing equipment and experienced medical personnel to train first responders in emergency medicine. He also co-chaired District 7910's End Hunger project raising funds and organizing 150 volunteers to package and distribute over 48,000 meals to local pantries, backpack programs and soup kitchens.
In his business life, Steve is a founder and partner of the law firm of Sager Legal LLP, concentrating his practice in business law. He received his bachelor's degree from Allegheny College in PA and received his juris doctor, cum laude, from Western New England University.
Steve was born in Boston, raised in Brookline and now resides in Westborough MA.
Steve's goals during his year as DG are to grow membership, specifically to find ways to attract the younger generations to join service projects. Get them actively involved in doing hands on projects so that they are better able to see the limitless possibilities of what Rotary can do. Steve also wants to help create stronger clubs through training and proper succession planning.
