JAY: ($2) nice Thanksgiving, though sad to miss Coastguard grandson!
JIM F: ($2) Karen's car got totaled, but lucky no one was hurt!
STEPHANIE: ($2) Happy Thanksgiving and thanks to all who helped make the wreaths and swags a success!
JOAN: ($1) Ernie from Windmill had two family deaths in two weeks. He is in our thoughts.
ALLEY: ($1) happy that germs have left the house! It was a sickly Thanksgiving!
ELLEN: ($1) for getting to see the beautiful sunrises on Thursday mornings!
MICKEY: ($1) had a great Thanksgiving with (only) 40 people!
ANDREA: ($2) happy to be back. Hoping to avoid back surgery.
JEANIE: ($2) Best of luck to Deb LaPointe who is (eventually) having foot surgery. And love seeing John's photos from London.
MADDIE: ($2) started coaching basketball and Monty Tech. It's now ALL basketball, ALL the time! Also finally bought a new car! Nissan Rogue!
RICK: ($2) enjoyed bell ringing at the mall. Met a friend of Maddie's. Thanksgiving was good.
NANCY:($1) wreaths and swags are done for another year!
ROGER: ($2) Gib is home. 12 hour nursing care. He and Joan were happy to get our card. Had a nice Thanksgiving.
LESLIE:($1) had a nice Thanksgiving.
MAILA: ($2) happy to have AG Karen here with us today. Glad that Megan from the Interact club came to bell ringing.
MELISSA: ($1) had a nice Thanksgiving with both kids at the table. Haven't done that in years!

CLUB NOTES
- Food Dollar Donations: most of us have voted on our top four food donations. The top runners at this point are SPANISH AMERICAN CENTER, DAILY BREAD, FITCHBURG SENIOR CENTER and KYLEE'S KARE KITZ.

- The Community Visioning Team met after our club meeting and decided to request that club members donate small, (new) teddy bears during the month of December that will be donated to local first responders, (fire, police, EMT) to keep in their vehicles to distribute to children during difficult situations.

Assistant Governor Karen Fusco on Women in Rotary
Karen gave a great speech about the history of women in Rotary. It began in 1950 when an enactment to delete the word "male" from the Standard Rotary Club Constitution was proposed by a Rotary club in India for the Council on Legislation meeting at the 1950 RI Convention.
In 1964 3 proposals were made the allow women - the delegates voted it down. After more than 2 decades, finally in May of 1987 the US Supreme Court voted in a unanimous ruling that the club of Duarte could not discriminate against members because of gender. In the same year, Dr. Sylvia Whitlock was inducted by DGE Dr. Kim K Siu as the first woman Club President in the history of Rotary.
Karen went on to give details about the first local women in Rotary (many of whom are known by members of this club).

- HOLIDAY WRAPPING for KYLEE'S KARE KITS 4 KIDZ at 12:00 at the Synagogue on Washington Street in Leominster. All are welcome to come help wrap gifts for the children.

- MID-YEAR LEADERSHIP DINNER: This meeting is for all club Presidents (2018-19), Presidents-Elect (2019-20), and President Nominee/Vice Presidents (2020-21). Continual training, leading everyone to finish strong, and working with successor leaders is a crucial part of your role. Please make sure your future presidents know about this event and plan on attending with you.
