President Maila B. called the meeting to order at 7:15 a.m.
Secretary’s Report
Jim F asked a clarifying question from a note in the minutes. He believes the entire $13 donation for the Million Dollar Meal was to go to Polio, instead of $3. It was confirm all of the $13 was for Polio and also noted that $13 was the minimum recommended donation anyone could offer more.
Minutes of June 13, 2018 presented. Jim H moved to accept. Leslie seconded. Board passed.
June monthly attendance was 81.82% and year-to-date is 82.59%
Treasurer’s Report
Leslie presented the monthly income and Expense report. Maila moved to accept, Ellen seconded. Board passed.
Leslie noted that the YTD view was added to the treasurer report.
Deb LaPointe made a motion to roll over the current maturing CD to a short term 12 or 18 month term CD. Jim F motion to approve, Jim H seconded. Board passed.
Membership Report – No new members but also noted there was no loss in membership.
Public Relations – none.
Foundation Report
Foundation funds have been set in.
Report cards were sent to all members, noting 4 members are very close to the Paul Harris and Paul Harris plus 1 awards.
Speaker Program
Discussion Maila would speak with Allison the Speaker Chair, to assign 2 members for each month to secure speakers. Members may also sign up as speakers sharing facts about themselves and their careers. This will be discussed with the club at Forum.
Maila will also check with Lynn for the other 2 RYLA students
Jim F suggested reaching out to Ron Bot for speaker ideas.

Fundraising
Comedy Night – Roger updated the board and a discussion was help regarding the options for food service at the event. Roger will discuss the pre-event menu in the restaurant dining room or offering an option for a fixed price limited options “happy box”.
Stephanie will discuss the volunteers and assignments for the Comedy Night during her Website Part II peaker date.
Other Business
Flag Pole – Leominster Rotary club - Andrea going to reach out to Mayor Dean M. about installing flag pole….more to come!
Interact Update - A continuing discussion about approaching students in 7th and 8th and not waiting until High School. IT may be best to get students to speak about Interact with the Rotary members.
Open house at Monty Tech is 8/21 and 8/22 and a back to school night on 9/6. Andrea is going to call the principal to see how we can get a Rotary booth for these events. Peter Perry (?) from the Fitchburg East club has a Roteract club at Fitchburg HS and is a teach there as well. We can ask him for advice on the success of the membership, etc.
Visioning - Fall 2018; Maila will address date options a Forum with the club tomorrow, July 19.
Leslie reminded everyone to communicate make-up days to avoid breaking your perfect attendance record.
Leslie suggested asked and Stephanie accepted managing the club attendance going forward.
Discussion Items
Jim H. thought it would be nice if had a speaker gift to give afterwards. Motion was made from Leslie that we order 25 Rotary 4-way test thank you coaster sets. Andrea second. Board passed.
Leslie continued a discussion regarding the importance of communicating male-up to avoid disrupting your perfect attendance. Jim F suggested sharing the bylaws at Club Forum to ensure everyone understands the guidelines rebadging make-ups and personal responsibility for communicating your attendance. How to take advantage of opportunities to conference call in to Board meetings and advantage of r the Virtual meetings - up to 3 a year.
Deb L Grant Update - the Clinton & Leominster clubs will be participating, our financial obligation is $550 and we'll need to open an account that when the grant is completed the district will send the funds. There will be a committee formed with representation from all clubs for process oversight, fund raising looking to attract new members to Rotary. A trivia night was suggested with tickets around$15. Local organizations who were approached bout receiving the care packages were very excited to hear the news, including Our Fathers House & Wheat in Clinton.
