Roger ($4) was very happy that he had a great weekend in Jaffrey at the Woodbound Inn where he was married! He was also sad that Gib is in rehab again.

Jim F ($2) is happy to be going to the Cape, but sad that the weather looks lousy.

Joan ($1) was both happy and sad to see the Healing Wall travel through Fitchburg and the Veterans Choir. Saw many high school classmates.

Mickey ($1) wanted to remind everyone about the Block Party at the Spanish American Center on 8/4.

Jim H is happy to be relaxing "in the audience" now that Maila has taken the lead.

Maila ($1) was happy to have had a wonderful trip to California with her daughter to visit her Godmother.

Jay ($1) was happy that he had a birthday celebration where he was the star of the show...until his 3 month old granddaughter arrived and stole the spotlight!

Ellen ($1) is very happy that her son will be arriving home for a visit in 5 weeks.

Jen ($1) is just happy to be here.

Steph ($1) wanted to redeem herself from failing the 4 way test. She does NOT like to fail anything!

Alley ($1) was thankful that John was taking notes today, as she was late! Kids are in summer camp and she can't get here early enough!

Leslie ($1) was happy that Jim's fish, Ese seems to be enjoying a wonderful quality of life!

Rick ($1) had to leave early, so Leslie contributed his comments. He is happy to host the Million Dollar Meal and the sign up will go around again.

Jeanie ($1) is happy to (maybe) go to the Adirondacks tomorrow!

Melissa ($2) was both happy and sad that her daughter is moving out! Bittersweet to see her go.

Andrea ($1) was happy that she had a great vacation. Husband did well in the fishing tournament.

John ($1) is happy to have almost completed some home projects. Hoping to get them all done before he goes back to teaching soon!

President Maila led us in a club forum and went over notes from the Board of Directors meeting held on 7/18/18:

 

*Monthly Attendance: a handout was passed out informing members of their options to help maintain good attendance. Make-up meeting options were explained and can be found on our website. We are doing well with average attendance over 80%.

*Membership: nothing much to report, aside from mentioning that we are all responsible to bring in new members and help grow the club.

*Grant: our grant was approved to work with Deb Lapointe and Health Alliance to make care bags for the hospital.

*Club Visioning: we don't have a date set in stone, but are looking to set a Thursday night toward the end of October, beginning of November. Need lots of club engagement on this.

*Comedy Night: we are in the process of signing the contract and finalizing who the comedians will be so we can begin marketing. Will be asking club members to visit other clubs to sell tickets.

*Cormier Park: the lawn was mowed!

*Dictionaries: Alley requested to use some of the leftover dictionaries to donate to Fostering Change, Inc., a non-profit in Leominster that supports local foster kids. They are doing a school supply drive and are in need of dictionaries.

*Speakers: we have Lindsey English of Fostering Change coming to talk to us next week about how she is helping foster children in our communities.We have lots of open dates that need to be filled. Please help us to acquire new speakers!
