Club Meeting:

Our next Club Meeting will begin on Thursday April 28th at 7:45am. We will be meeting in-person at Leominster Credit Union located at 18 Adams Street in Leominster as well as via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85151551208.

Board of Director's Meeting:

Will be held the 2nd Thursday of the month.

My fellow Rotarians,

On this date in 1789, Fletcher Christian leads a mutiny on the Bounty against its captain William Bligh in the South Pacific. So, what are the lessons that we learned about leadership from that day? According to Simon Sinek, great leaders have 3 top qualities. Great leaders are selfless because people like to be around people that they trust. Leaders are empathetic, because the more we do good for each other, the more we want to do good for others. Lastly, leaders have grace under fire. Leaders work on managing their own stress and the rest of the team will appreciate it. At Rotary, we have many great leaders to guide us through service projects and eradicating diseases like polio.

Last Week's Club Meeting:

Alley had a great idea about co-sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive due to national blood shortages. Ellen has found a location to host the event at at Andrew's Hall in Lunenburg. Thank you Alley and Ellen!

Discuss adding a Webmaster/Social Media Chair to update our website to show all of the recent service projects and fundraising events that we have worked on and to become more inviting to potential new members.

This Week's Club Meeting:

I will complete paperwork for a District Grant for the Fitchburg/Leominster Rail Trail project of adding multiple bicycle pump and repair stations. We will be the Host Club and each of the 4 Clubs in the area will contribute $500 towards this project.

Upcoming Events:

April 28th: Discussing Joint Club Cornhole Tournament at Jim & Karen Fusco's house at 5:30pm. Their home is located at 192 Bridle Cross Road in Fitchburg.

May 7th: May Flowers fundraising event for Mother's Day located at Fidelity Bank parking located on 75 Main Street in Leominster from 10:00am ~ 2:00pm. We will sell the May Flowers at $35.00 each.

May 12th: Neddy Latimer the Executive Director of the Spanish American Center invited the Montachusett Area Rotary Club to hold our Club meeting from 7:45am ~ 8:30am and have breakfast at their facility located at 112 Spruce Street in Leominster.

May 17th: Community Awards at Fitchburg High School. Please call or text Mary Whitney at (508) 317-6035 for questions.

July 12th: Joint Club Cornhole Tournament at the Thirsty Robot Brewery located at 265 Summer Street in Fitchburg.

July TBA: Krispy Kreme Fundraiser for their Original Glazed Dozen Doughnuts!

July 24th: Worcester Red Sox are hosting a Leominster Day at Polar Park.

Upcoming Speakers:

April 28th: Timothy Massawe who is the District Governor in District 9214. Timothy will talk about Rotary in Tanzania.

May 5th: Chris Grubel or Mike Hurley of the Fitchburg East Club. They are in the process of writing an international grant for a water project in Uganda.
