Cortland Rotary Club Hosts Annual Teacher of the Year Luncheon

The Cortland Rotary Club is proud to host its annual Teacher of the Year Luncheon on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, celebrating exceptional educators from local districts who go above and beyond in their dedication to students and learning.

This year’s honorees include:

Jessica Zech – Physical Education Teacher, DeRuyter Elementary
Carrie Mack – ELA AIS Provider, Marathon Central School
Lisa Schuyler – 2nd Grade Teacher, Cincinnatus Central School
Kim Whitney – 5th Grade Teacher, McGraw Central School
Lisa Catalina – 6th Grade Special Education Teacher, Cortland City School District
Savanna Webb – Librarian Media Specialist, Homer Central School District

These outstanding educators exemplify excellence in teaching, creativity in the classroom, and unwavering support for their school communities. The Rotary Club is honored to recognize their contributions.

Rotary Club of Cortland Honors Local Excellence at Annual Pride of Workmanship Luncheon

This year’s luncheon brought together colleagues, community leaders, friends, and family to recognize a group of individuals whose dedication, integrity, and passion elevate their workplaces and inspire those around them.

Teacher’s Pet School Supply Drive

This August, our club partnered with Guthrie Cortland Medical Center to collect school supplies for the Homer and Cortland School District teachers. The supplies ranged from notepads, pencils, pens, gift cards, and more. Below is a picture of Cortland Rotary members sorting all the fantastic collected supplies.

Open Water Swim at Little York Lake

The 2024 Open water swim at Little York Lake has been announced!

The event held at Dwyer Park will be June 22, 2024.

2024 Pride of Workmanship

Candy bar sales raises $600 to fight Polio

The Rotary Club of Cortland raises $600 for Polio.

Every October the Rotary Clubs around the world celebrate their fight to irradiate polio. This year the club sold candy bars at the four locations of The First National Bank of Dryden. The sale raised $600 for the polio plus fund at The Rotary Foundation. This donation will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation at a 2;1 match. That means that there will be $1,800 added to this ongoing fight to end polio now.

2023 Open Water Swim

Open Water Swim 2023

The Cortland Rotary Club is holding an open water swim June 17th to help support our Community Projects.
The event is being held at Dwyer Park, Little York Lake. Donations and participant’s registration can be made by going to www.Cortland rotary swim.com.
This will be a timed event for distances of .6 mile, 1.2 mile, and 2.4 miles. This provides swimmers a safe environment to challenge their abilities and the area has areas to run and bike to help triathletes a chance to train for upcoming events.
