Thanksgiving is coming a little early for members of the Neponset Valley Sunrise (NVS) Rotary Club. On Wednesday, November 16 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn in Dedham, the club will host a donor appreciation breakfast for businesses and individuals who have donated to and supported Rotary causes including the annual ‘Duck Race on the Charles’ and ‘Service Above Self Award Dinner’.

Members of the club will also speak to how donor support is translated into support for community and global causes including donations to local food pantries, dictionaries for children, the Ellie Fund, fresh water initiatives, Bikes Not Bombs, and Rotary’s drive to ‘End Polio’. The club plans to present the Norwood Ecumenical, Dedham, and Westwood food pantries with checks to help stock their shelves and to present certificates of appreciation to donors.

NVS Rotary Club President Brendan Gearty said, “The donor appreciation breakfast is a great way to thank our supporters and to demonstrate the impact their support has on the community and on causes around the world. We also look forward to aiding local food pantries again this year and encourage others to step in and donate to them as well.”

Anyone interested in Rotary is also encouraged to join us for breakfast. “This is a great opportunity for people to learn what Rotary is all about,” Gearty added. “We want to open our meeting up to others as well and encourage them to join us.” Anyone interested in attending or learning more can contact Brendan Gearty at 617-543-9271 or Breakfast Chairman John Gorham at 781-292-3290.
