Welcome to another issue of our biweekly bulletin! Find out who our upcoming speakers are, what we covered during the last weekly meeting, and our up coming events and fundraisers!
Club Assembly Report: 
 
After calling the meeting to order, President Al Scala called on committee chairs to give their reports.
 
  1. Bonnie Miele reports that the Veterans committee has generously given to the Veterans this past year. Thank you to all who so generously participated.
  2. The committee is planning gifts for the children in St. Joseph’s Hospital, and donating socks to the homeless at Eva’s Shelter. She also has winter scarves to give to the school children.
  3. Sandy Bosque suggests a Teddy Bear project which gives teddy bears to child victims through the Prosecutor’s office.
  4. Art Scialla reports on the Gift of Life program and what a rewarding experience hosting a Gift of Life child is.
  5. Vince reports that volunteers are needed for Habitat of Humanity.
  6. Dan Sterba reports that two additional committee members are needed for R.Y.L.A.  (Rotary Youth Leadership Applicants) The committee will interview students for the Rotary youth leadership and team building camp in Warren County, N.J.

We welcome members and guests to our next meeting Thursday, Feb 2nd where we will hear from Brittany who has opened up Beyond The Classroom shop.  Her company is a Black Woman owned business that focuses on teaching materials and learning games for both traditional and homeschool students. 

 

Windcreek bus trip
On April 1, 2023 we will have our annual bus trip to the Windcreek Casino in Bethlehem, PA. See Dan to make your reservation. This trip is usually sold out. Cost is $40.00 per person which includes $25.00 back in free play.. The next one will be in November.

Cookbooks are here - $15!
The Paterson Rotary Cookbooks are here! Pick one or more up for you and for gifts in time for cooking, baking, and gift giving for Christmas and the Holidays! The books are $15.00 each and feature 291 recipes! They are at PDG John Susani’s office and ready for pick up.

Thanksgiving Food Bags to the Veterans
A Tricky Tray and Beefsteak Dinner is planned for May 3, 2023 and will take place at Portabello’s in Oakland, NJ. This fundraiser will honor PDG Joseph Dino. All members are asked to solicit donations of gift cards from restaurants and retailers you visit, as well as gift baskets, and gifts.
 
Tickets are $65.00 per person and include one sheet of raffle tickets. 
 
Y our ticket includes: Antipasta, pasta, beefsteak, dessert and one sheet of Green, entry level tickets.

Day of event ticket prices:
  • Entry Level Prize - (Green Ticket) - $10 a sheet (26 tickets)
  • Mid Level Prize - (Pink Ticket) - $25 a sheet (26 tickets)
  • High Level Prize - (Red Ticket) - $10 for a single ticket, $20 for three tickets
  • (2) Lottery Aprons - (Blue Ticket) - $20 for an Arms Length (ten tickets)
  • 5 0/50 Tickets - (White Ticket) - $20 for an Arms Length (ten tickets) *
