Reminder of the district conference on April 4th in Hershey Park. District 7405 was supposed to do the conference with us but there was an issue and they backed out. Only 35 people were in attendance - we need more support. Please come!
Gift of Life 2025 - Louis Andre (19 yrs. Old) and his grandmother Alba have arrived. Luis says He is very thankful for us and he can not find the words to express how thankful he is. He is from Honduras. He has been connected with our GOL families that have come before him. **PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR EMAILS FROM ERIKA BALDINO REGARDING MEAL/VOLUNTEER COORDINATION TO ASSIST KAREN'S HOSTING OF GOL ADULT**
Popcorn Sale - March 14th. Bonnie will have flyers next meeting. The popcorn sale with benefit RYLA. Please share! 50% of the popcorn comes back to the club.
The Community Service Committee is working on our Dictionary Project at School #27. They will be passed out at 9:15am at the school, Wednesday March 5th. Please volunteer if you can.
As a guest speaker a couple weeks ago, we have the Paul Harris Society Chair. He spoke about Paul Harris and donating every month. Our club is not doing well - President Susani is hoping we can get monthly reoccurring donations to donate to Paul Harris . His goal is that everyone in our Club will have a Paul Harris. Susani, Dino and Art have points and a re looking to donate them to newly participating members . He is asking for signups today.
John is going to send out an email, looking for Committee Chairs that are required as part of the clubs bylaws.
Dan Sterba - John, Joe Dino and Dan has discussed lunch. The club makes $1.50 every lunch. However, you will get a different three options for a meal with a dessert. It will be a sit down every time and no buffet. We will have the price held by Francescos as long as possible. There is no minimum here. For those who don't know, the club was losing 5 to 6 thousand dollars each year on lunches when we were not meeting minimums.

Yankees Baseball Game - sandwiches will be purchased from Subway
Night at the racetrack - Roberta and Sandy are working on this.

Valley Hospital Presentation
Charles Vinoy - speaker.
Founded in 1951, Valley Hospital included three entities - Valley Health System Foundation, Home Care and Valley Medical Group.
Built new hospital and moved in April 14th of last year. The new hospital is smaller in bed capacity then old hospital. They have been challenged to deal with the volume. There were 470 beds in the old hospital and 350 as new. The new one.But rooms are twice as big as old hospital. All the rooms are private and nice amenities including a TV and White board. There are 39 bays in the ER. It is twice as big as the old ER from Ridgewood. They have been seeing about 40 new patients every single day.
They do everything else besides transplants. Through Valley Home care, they service homes in Bergen and Passaic, as well as hospice services. They have Cardiac, child house services, and rehab services, including home health aids. They are affiliated with Mt. Sinai and now have residents learning at the hospital. Over 6,000 employees currently in the system
They had 5,900 admissions last year. They had 3,900 babies born in the hospital last year. They have over 500 providers/ doctors.
Valley is unique because of their culture and care standards. They believe in service and follow patient / family center care. They try and share and collaborate with the family as much as possible. They strive for high relatability and creating the safest place in the hospital as possible.
They have specialized care for LGBT and Recovery and Wellness units. They are building an outpatient facility at the old Ridgewood facility. This will include a sleep center and have some OR same day cases there. This should be open within a year and half.
Valley wants to be the employer of choice and wants to attract the best and brightest. They also want to be the provider of choice. They want to maximize technology as well. They are going through a period of rapid growth and are continuing with outreach within the town of Paterson as well as Paterson/ Passaic Boys and Girls Club.
We are seeking donations for Gift of Life - our goal is to raise $1300 to go along with the $1700 donation that the Susani family has made on behalf of their niece. Then we can sponsor a child as soon as we have $3000 total. Please click here to donate online
The Great Falls Pantry - requesting donations of Non-Perishable foods.
With almost 27,000 military veterans living in Paterson alone, many of them living under tight financial constraints, this pantry was just what they needed.
Located at 160 Ward Street in Paterson, NJ, the pantry will be open the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9-11 am. Veterans will need to bring proof of service and a tax return in order to shop. Currently, the pantry holds a variety of dry goods and the organizers plan to hold fundraisers in the future to continue to keep the pantry stocked for our vets!
