The Community Service Committee has partnered to a Trunk Or treat at Christopher Hope Center on Oct 26 - details below. Bring Candy!! She is also asking for cash donations to help purchase the candy. Thank you to Alberto for the TD Bank lollipops!
The Community Service Committee is working on our Dictionary Project at School #27. The hand out will most likely be in October - details to follow! This committee is also working on a Water Filter project.
Holiday Meeting - December 19th - White Elephant meeting - it should be a minimum of a $20 dollar wrapped gift, unisex gift. No speaker. that day.
John will email a list of committees that we need chairs for. This is an open/ volunteer call.

Guest Speaker - Scott Reddin- 2024/2025 District Governor of District 7490

Scott reflects as his term is almost one third over. John Susani called Scott and was the one who told him he had the honor of being picked for governor. Scott said we were the first club that he visited once he was newly named DGN.
Scott will be attendance for the Beefsteak. He spoke of attendance - last club he went to only had six people coming. He stresses the importance of showing up. He explains that the Governor's purpose is to let the member's know that the District Leadership is there for you.
Our club asked Scott about volunteering for Hurricane Relief. He will get back to us about how we can help those clubs affected by the Hurricane.
He says we have a good clubs that have good attendance and doing projects - that is the goal. There are some clubs that need conflict resolution. If you have any confidential questions, he can answer. But if it is conflict resolution , he will direct in the right place for this.
It is important to Scott to try different things and listen to examples. He has decided to move the District Meetings to La Reggia in Secaucus for four of them and then the other four will be in Bergen County. He also wants to do a District Wide "Rotary Means Business." The picnic in Van Saun park is going to be in the Spring now. Socializing is very important to Scott and he wants to encourage that in the district.
Scott spoke about a Peace Poll and perhaps getting one at the World Trade Center.
Scott spoke about district consolidation. They are trying to get New Jersey to become one district. Scott stated that the District money in Walter D Head - there is a decent chance we can keep that going outside of the merged district.
Cy asks about splitting New Jersey into two districts but Rotary International doesn't want to split a district down the middle.

We are seeking donations for Gift of Life - our goal is to raise $1300 to go along with the $1700 donation that the Susani family has made on behalf of their niece. Then we can sponsor a child as soon as we have $3000 total. Please click here to donate online
The Great Falls Pantry - requesting donations of Non-Perishable foods.
With almost 27,000 military veterans living in Paterson alone, many of them living under tight financial constraints, this pantry was just what they needed.
Located at 160 Ward Street in Paterson, NJ, the pantry will be open the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9-11 am. Veterans will need to bring proof of service and a tax return in order to shop. Currently, the pantry holds a variety of dry goods and the organizers plan to hold fundraisers in the future to continue to keep the pantry stocked for our vets!
