Announcements
Roberta Farber, chair of the Cookbook fundraiser, reports that the cook book will be available for sale in November to be ready for cooking, baking, and gift giving for Christmas and the Holidays! The books are $15.00 each.
Thank you to all who submitted recipes!

October 29th will be “Trunk or Treat” at the Hope Center on Temple Street in Paterson. Join Bonnie to help with this from 2 to 4 PM.

On November 16th the Paterson Rotary Club will be meeting at the Barrow House. Our Board meeting that evening will take place there as well. In order for Paterson Rotary to get credit for all who attend, attendees must order online at TheBarrowHouse.com  or present the flyer to the server. Barrow House will donate 15% of the total sales to our club.

Bonnie Miele reports that on November 3rd, Veterans will be invited to our luncheon to honor them for Veteran’s Day. Each member is asked to sponsor one Veteran for lunch and sit with them.

We will also be collecting 21 bags of food including turkeys for the 21 disabled and homeless Veterans and their families who reside in the Veteran housing complex on East 18th Street in Paterson. Our club is proud to sponsor these efforts for our Veterans and thanks to our Paterson Rotarian’s generosity our Military project continues!

Congrats to Roberta Farber who won the football raffle this week.

We will organize volunteers for Eva’s Kitchen and Habitat for Humanity.

      MEETING PROGRAM
       POLIO PLUS
Guest Speaker – Rotarian Phil Wilson, Palisades Rotary Club

Phil is the District “Polio Plus” Co-Chair

Phil tells us that when he was eight years old he contracted polio and lost the use of both his arms.

Despite his disability he served in the Peace Corps teaching students in Kenya, East Africa.

Phil later joined Rotary, served as club president and continued to serve communities in need and joined the fight to end polio.

Phil presented an informative video on Polio Myelitis.

Thank you for joining us today Phil, and for providing an important and timely program on this dreaded disease.

Rotary has spent millions since the eighties to eradicate polio in the world.

We have made great strides as countless Rotary volunteers have stepped up to give millions of doses of the vaccine across the globe.

 ROTARIAN CODE OF CONDUCT

      As a Rotarian, I will:

  1. Act with integrity and high ethical standards in all my personal and professional life.
  1. Deal fairly with others and treat them and their occupations with respect.
  1. Use my professional skills through Rotary to mentor young people, help those with special needs, and improve the quality of life in my community and in the world.
  1. Avoid behavior that reflects adversely on Rotary or other Rotarians.
  1. Not seek special business or professional advantages from other Rotarians.
 THE ROTARY FOUR WAY TEST

OF THE THINGS WE THINK DO OR SAY

  1. Is it the TRUTH?

  1. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

  1. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

  1. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
