Welcome to another issue of our biweekly bulletin! Find out who our upcoming speakers are, what we covered during the last weekly meeting, and our up coming events and fundraisers!
Announcements:
December 15 is the last meeting of the year! Our Elections for Officers and Directors will take place at this meeting so all members are strongly encouraged to attend to make your voices heard.
 
This Meeting's Speaker: 
 
 Guest Speaker – Former Governor, James E. McGreevy

 

Governor McGreevy explained that NJRC works with court involved individuals who are returning from prison, jail, and/or probation to provide persons with addiction treatment, MVC identification, legal services, medical and behavioral healthcare, housing referrals, federal and state benefits, and industry recognized credentials for employment and career development.

Participants will receive free lunch and transportation; one on one employment counseling with background friendly employers;

Employment readiness workshops, resume` drafting and job search assistance; Federal bonding, WIOA training credits, and expungement.

Job training at Training Center for “Industry recognized credentials” and employment. Biopsychosocial assessment, counseling, referrals to medical and behavioral services; Clinical evaluation and recommendation for addiction treatment and MAT.

Assistance obtaining birth certificate, social security, and MVC photo.

License-related legal assistance, including obtaining a detailed suspension report; $100.00 license restoration fee payment for qualified individuals;

Enrollment in federal and state benefits, including GA, SNAP, DVR and Medicaid;

Referrals to structured sober housing.

Veterans with OTH discharges are looking for a second chance and benefit from these services.

It takes 12 to 18 months of MAT treatment to cure the Fentanyl addiction.

The Paterson Rotary Cookbooks are here! Pick one or more up for you and for gifts in time for cooking, baking, and gift giving for Christmas and the Holidays! The books are $15.00 each and feature 291 recipes! They are at PDG John Susani’s office and ready for pick up.

Thanksgiving Food Bags to the Veterans
On November 21st the food bags we collected will be delivered in time for Thanksgiving to the Veterans at the Paterson Park Apartments. Our club is proud to sponsor these efforts for our Veterans and thanks to our Paterson Rotarian’s generosity, our Military project continues!

Bus Trip to Windcreek Casino
On April 1, 2023 we will have our annual bus trip to the Windcreek Casino in Bethlehem, PA. See Dan to make your reservation. This trip is usually sold out.
