Our Fort Lee Rotary Club luncheon was top notch today!...

...We were visited by two sponsor VIP’s from Valley Bank, a Rotarian from Kosovo, a prospective member and the CFO from Heightened Independence and Progress (HIP)...

...Lively conversations about saving young lives, promoting literacy, helping the disabled, a shoe drive and Rotary Means Business were front and center followed by planning our Holiday Party...Very cool..!!

After three terms as the Club President, I passed the baton/gavel on to my good friend Carmine Meluccio as I move on to concentrate on my Rotary District Governor-Elect duties. Our Club is in excellent hands!...

Saying goodbye is always bittersweet...

...but we will meet again in January...

...Our Fort Lee Rotary Club said goodbye to our Gift of Life youngster Charlene (Lot Lot) for the time being. The medication she is taking to make her strong enough to undergo the heart surgery requires more time to do its magic...

...In the meantime, Lot Lot and her Mom will return to the Philippines where she will get stronger. Her return trip to the USA will hopefully occur in January. Your prayers are needed too!...

...Under the banner of Rotary's Gift of Life Program, a mission to Vietnam was recently undertaken to save the lives of children suffering from congenital hear disease...

...One of the children was a 7th grader named Nguyen Quynh Trang. She is now healthy enough to follow her dreams and will eventually become a teacher just like her Mom. Oh yeah, she also likes cooking, reading and watching cartoons...

Our Fort Lee Rotary Club has a long tradition of supporting good causes. Every week we ask each other what we are happy about and start a pool of a few dollars called "Happy Dollars'. Freeholder and fellow Rotarian Joan Voss suggested that we donate the proceeds from our "Happy Dollars" to the Bergen County Project Literacy. After six months we collected a sizable sum and Joan delivered the check to their Executive Director, Chris Stout. Chris is also a Rotarian and fully understands the meaning of "Service Above Self"!

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

The Fort Lee Rotary Club has 'Adopted" the Lampidis Foundation because we are convinced that they are on the threshold of making a major break through in finding a cure for certain types of cancers. Many of our club members have had family members or friends afflicted by this terrible disease, as I'm sure you have as well.

We have invited Dr. Ted Lampidis to join us at our June 30th meeting to provide a brief overview of his exciting research and to share with us what the future holds. Please see the attached flier for RSVP details. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Thank you.

From the very night the raging fire started at the Avalon at Edgewater, Fort Lee Rotarians were there to help their neighbors. Below is a time sensitive update for you to help as well.

One of the recovery locations in Edgewater has moved and they can now be found at 890 River Road in Edgewater. The contact person there is Sy Rolnick at 347-236-2100. Please note that the need of the victims has changed. There is no longer a requirement for food, clothing, health aids or pet supplies as many of these folks are transitioning to new housing.  However, you can help by visiting either location (the other is in the Edgewater City Place Mall between Ulta and the Fleming Steak House where the contact person is Iris at 201-240-0043) to fold clothing, arrange and stack other items and direct victims to the items they need.
                                          OR
