Just Another Saturday at John's Place?

Saturday, November 1, 2008

Saturday. And a beautiful Saturday it is. It's been several months, but I did feel like making breakfast. We had home fries, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Justin and Dolce had orange juice. Did I tell you we were out of mangos?

After breakfast, I told Dolce to dress Justin. We were going over to Walker Street in Cliffside Park. I had clothes, pots, and pans to donate to the CFA. Fifteen minutes later Dolce was upstairs with a stack of baby clothes she had brought with her. They were too small for Justin.  We arrived at the church. Neither Susan nor any of the nuns were home, so I left the clothes in the garage, along with the pots and pans and left a note telling them who donated the baby clothes.

We returned home about 1:30. I got a call from Ann McVey, saying she would be over to see Justin and Dolce. What am I? Chopped Liver? No one comes to see me. Ann showed up about three, with veal chops and asparagus from Fairway Market. I was downstairs on the computer listening to Ann teach Dolce how to cook the meat and asparagus. Ann's tutoring was great. Dolce did a great job for the first time cooking the veal and asparagus. Ann could not stay for dinner; but thank you, Ann, for bringing dinner (no mangos).

It's starting to get dark sooner than later. I think I am going to start turning the clocks back.  Its six o'clock now and maybe I will set them back another hour at midnight.

God, what a great day. Dolce's spirits are high and Justin has so much energy. Thanks to you guys coming to visit her and Justin.
