Trick or Treat!

Friday, October 31, 2008

Friday morning, seems like Saturday.  The weather is getting warmer. It will be in the sixties today; nice for kids going trick or treating. It's early, but I am on my way home. I'm hoping we hear from the hospital on a time and day for Justin's operation.

When I arrived home, Justin was still sleeping, and that's good. He will expend a lot of energy before the day is through.

My cell rang. I did not get to it in time. It was the hospital. By the time I got back to them, I had to leave a message.

I received a call back from the hospital. They confirmed the date. The bad thing about the date is that Justin will be unable to vote. He will be operated on November 4th around one o'clock, the second operation of the day. Dolce was happy to hear the good news. We celebrated with a glass of mango juice. By the way, the mangos came from Elsie and Netti; thanks guys!

I thought I would get a lot of work done, but I was reminded by Dolce we needed candy for the kids for Halloween.  Dolce asked me what I gave the kids. I told her I give $100.00 to every kid that knocks on our door. She immediately told me I was crazy. Then I went out and bought penny candy. Dolce put Justin in the stroller in his Spiderman costume; he looked terrific. We walked around the block. It was great, as I met neighbors I haven't seen in years. I also met some new neighbors. It was early, about 4:30, nice and warm. Neighbors were passing out candy. Justin got about six pieces of candy and I gave out about three dollars in quarters.

Short story. Justin has five pieces of chocolate candy in front of him. A young woman sees Justin with all the chocolate and says to Steve, who gave Justin the last piece of chocolate, "too much chocolate". She handed Justin a lollipop and said "that's better". It was a chocolate lollipop! Who'd a thought?

It's about 9 PM; the kids are still coming for treats. I'm watching some TV, and Justin and Dolce are sitting on the bed downstairs looking out the window. As the kids trick or treating are coming up the driveway, Dolce would go out through the garage and give the kids candy and a quarter. I hope they were her quarters.

It was another great day because Justin dressed up as Spiderman and Dolce got the news about Justin's operation. Isn't God Great?

By the way we are out of mangos.
