The Rotary Club of Fair Lawn has been active in our Fair Lawn community since 1948. You’ve seen our signs announcing the time, date and location of our weekly meetings; you’ve seen the Rotary logo all over town – the new clock in front of the library, the bulletin board in front of the board of education offices; on the “adopt a park” sign at Beaver Dam Park; and inlaid in pavers at Memorial Park as well as other places locally, regionally and internationally.

So who are these men and women that volunteer their time to serve those in our community? Who are these people that travel around the world to fight polio and drive across town to help their neighbors in need?

This installment of the series brings us to Joanne M. Kwasniewski a member of the Fair Lawn Rotary Club since 2002.  Joanne is our Club Secretary and also served the Club as President in the 2009/10 Rotary Year and is on the scholarship committee.  Joanne also serves the community as the Chair of our 3rd Grade Dictionary Distribution Project.  She is not only known for handing out dictionaries at each of our elementary schools, Joanne can be found at Fair lawn Borough Hall, where she is the Municipal Clerk and Assistant Borough Manager.

Joanne joined Rotary to represent the Borough of Fair Lawn and the give back to the community.  She also enjoys the camaraderie of belong to Rotary.  Joanne’s favorite Rotary activities, besides enjoying the dictionary distributions days, are the pancake breakfast and the beefsteak and tricky tray.  Outside of Rotary, Joanne enjoys readings, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

When it comes to music, Joanne enjoys “Don’t You Want to Stay”, “Rock-n-Roll” and “Jersey Boys” on her IPOD.
