If you or someone you know needs help, the above contact information will connect to Bergen County’s United Way Help Line.  After 50 years as one of the largest charitable organizations in the community, BCUW moved away from the management of federated giving campaigns to creating preventative and long term solutions to the community’s most critical problems.

211 and nj211.org are staffed by caring professionals on a 24/7 basis.  These professionals will be able to assist callers in making the appropriate connection to non-government or government agencies that will provide assistance to help families, agency professionals, parents, grandparents, teens, the disabled and others to get information on affordable housing, financial and emergency assistance, volunteering opportunities, food stamps, grief counseling, special needs registry, utility assistance, abuse, homelessness prevention, shelter, transportation and just about everything else that a person would need help with.  This BCUW service is free, confidential and is available in a variety of languages, it is also TTY accessible.
