A Rotary Club Of West Lakes Youth project
The Rotary Club of West Lakes is a keen supporter of RSE's Road Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) program, running the program annually.
On Monday 29 August, members from the Rotary Clubs of West Lakes and Charles Sturt Grange hosted year 10 students from Nazareth College. Four busloads of students (186) and teachers descended on the Christian Family Centre at Seaton on a grey day. Whilst early on the rain stayed away, after morning tea we had to alter our Car Braking demonstration and move to an indoor venue. The Christian Family Centre is well suited and flexible and enabled us to cater for the change.
RCWL member Brian Thomas had everything organised, and the program ran like clockwork.

We were again fortunate to have the support of our sponsors:
  • CMI Toyota, use of car;
  • Coates Hire, for safety bollards;
  • Charles Sturt fire brigade, filling bollards with water;
  • Rotary District 9510, RYDA support trailer.
Special mention also to the Rotary Club of Largs Bay for provision of their BBQ trailer to cook over 500 sausages for the hungry students.
