Melbourne Cup Boxed Trifecta
Every Australian knows that the first Tuesday in November sees the running of the "Race that stops a nation". That's right, the Melbourne Cup horse race. This also allows the Rotary Club of Port Lincoln to run an important fundraiser, with net proceeds being maintained in a seaparte account to be given back to the Community.
In summary, the Rotary Club sell $2 boxed trifecta sweepstake tickets and the buyers a chance to win $1,000. Each box earns the Rotary Club over $500 to spend in their local community on good deeds and rotary projects.
How does a boxed trifecta work? Each ticket has three numbers between 1-24. If those numbers correspond to the first three placed horses in the Melbourne Cup, in any order, that ticket wins. Simply call our Secretary, on the phone numbers indicated on the ticket within three (3) months to verify the win. If the prize is not claimed, the funds are also put back into community projects.
Club members will sell tickets at various venues in the weeks leading up to the big race. Look for us in the workplace and outside the usual shopping centres etc.
