Delphi Community High School Principal, Barry Stone, spoke at Delphi Rotary March 1, 2011 about how the Delphi School Corportation is leading the state in classroom technology.  Barry gave many examples of how far ahead the Delphi School Corportation is with the equipment they have & how they use classroom technology, compared to other schools in the state of Indiana & around the nation.  Barry explained the equipment used, how the students use online textbooks & other online learning tools, 3D projectors, all students grades 2-12 having laptops by next year, & future vision of teacher/classroom engagement.  He also explained the process of "Digital Immigrants" (teachers & adults) learning to teach the "Digital Natives" (youth) & how they are overcoming those challenges to get students excited about learning & encouraging students.  He stated that they often see kids working on school projects on their laptops at lunch time.  He also reiterated that  technology is a tool to help ensure that students are actively engaged in learning & helps assess what students have learned or what areas or subjects they need to work on in order to succeed in the future.
