Fourteen Delphi Community High School students attended the Rotary World Affairs Conference, "World Hunger-Rotary's Next Challenge" at the McHale Performing Arts Center at Logansport High School.  The students were involved in discussions on issues surrounding world hunger and listened to speakers from Purdue University, Indiana State University, and the Purdue Extension Office.

After lunch the Delphi students actively participated in an open forum gathering ideas on how to help feed the millions of hungry people throughout the world.  Several of our students came up with ideas, such as fundraisers or personal sacrifice ideas like not going to McDonald's but instead donating those dollars to help feed the starving children and adults around the globe.  The conference was an outstanding activity and the Delphi students enjoyed it immensely and gathered an entirely new perspective on the plight of the world's hungry. Jeremy Dominich stated that the conference was "mind-blowing.", Bridget Floyd said "It was an eye-opening experience", and Stefany Mayhew added, It was definitely shocking and devastating, but also great.  And meeting new people was fun."  Since their return, the small group of fourteen have actively pursued gathering additional information and supporting the fight against worldwide hunger.
