Marco Galindo will be presenting, and he’ll be joined by Shawn Corbello of ANC, the design-build contractor for the I-35 NEX Central project.

Marco is a 2008 graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.  He began his career with TxDOT in 2008 working as a construction inspector, progressing into the Engineering Assistant (EA) program in 2009. Marco gained further experience through various rotations within the San Antonio District including: Advanced Planning, Central Design and the District Lab. He obtained his Professional Engineer’s license in 2013, and in 2015, he took a position as Construction Engineer at the Bexar Metro Area Office. Marco became the Assistant Area Engineer at Bexar Metro in 2018 where he helped manage a budget of over $700 million dollars of construction and maintenance projects, as well as supporting the maintenance section of Bexar County, who maintain over 3,300 lane miles of roadway.

Over his 14 years with the Department, Marco has been involved with schematic development, public outreach, piloting various aspects of TxDOT’s 3D design implementation, design and construction management of various interchange projects, including the IH 410 @ US 90 interchange and the award-winning US 281 Expansion project. One of his most valuable experiences has been to construct projects that he signed and sealed as a designer, which was quite a humbling experience.

Marco joined the I-35 NEX project as of December 2022. He brings his knowledge and experience of the local area and the industry to this great project.
