President Carol opened our virtual meeting and called on Karen Moore to handle the invocation, pledge and Four-Way Test.
Carol introduced our guests and visiting Rotarians.
Happy Dollars was an “open mic” and everyone took turns.
For announcements, Carol reminded us that we could donate our lunch money to the Rotary Annual Fund. Sign in to your rotary account here and take care of it. Or you can mail a check to our P.O. Box 2171, Lakeland 33806,  to help meet this year’s goal.
She also thanked us for our OneBlood donations, and encouraged us to keep it up. Here’s how: They have set things up on the bus and at the centers to maintain safe procedures and distances. Because of these new practices, you need an appointment. To schedule an appointment and choose the location go to, then follow these steps:
1.Click the DONATE button by the Red Bus image
2. Enter your zip code,
3. Select the mile radius you will travel,
4. Date Range.
5. Select donation center or the bus.
Click SEARCH and a number of bus locations and centers appear, as well as available times.  Be sure to enter our Rotary Club's code 16859 to give our club credit for the donation.
President Carol also encouraged us to help out with the District-wide 1 Million Meals in May for Tampa Bay challenge. All 38 Clubs are invited to help, and the work we do will benefit the counties in our District. See this info to learn more.
Next Rotary Town Hall Meeting is with Dr. Eric Freundt, Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry at the University  of Tampa. It’s May 12 at 6 p.m.   Register  at or at the District website –  Once registered, you will receive the Zoom invitation by email.
We also learned that the Church will not re-open in May, so our virtual meetings will continue until we know more.
Carol also brought up the idea of a Rotary Social event via Zoom. We would do them in smaller groups to allow more connections and conversations between members. There was lots of support for the idea, so stay tuned!
Our Program was an Honorary Member Profile from our own Beth Hesseltine. It was a wonderful story, and we are so lucky to have Beth. If you missed it, there’s a recording you can access from our web site.
Next program: “SCORE Helping Small Businesses” by Mark Scolnick and Becky Bywater
